Aside from the height requirement, what is the youngest age you have taken your children?

We took our DS at 4, would have at 3 but didn't go to AK. I wouldn't feel that ride is scary or innapropriate for any age once the reach the height requirement.

Plus they have special seats on every boat for smaller riders, that has a lap bar that they pull down while everyone else just gets a seat belt.

Same here, 3 y.o. At first she wasn't totally sold, but then she liked it a lot, and wanted to ride again.

She specially enjoyed the people from the bridge that aim at the rafts with those "water guns", as she had used them earlier that day.

I think it is also a good excuse to let them know something about the theming of the attraction.

Have fun,

Mx

I wasn't sure if this would be good for my girls, even if they were big enough. After reading all the replies, we will have to give this a try on our next trip. Thanks!

My DD was a couple months shy of 3 when she rode. She loved it and asked to ride it again later in the day!! She just cleared the height requirement, very tall for her age. This December she will just turn 5 and be able to ride almost everything except the coasters. SOO Excited:cool1:

My younger DS had recently turned 3. When they measure them (and they're just tall enough to ride), they get a special wristband so when they board, the CMs know to put them in the special seat with the lap bar.

THIS. My daughter was 2 1/2 when she rode & she got the wristband & sat in the special seat. She was totally fine & loved it.

DS went on 4th birthday, but on GRR in DCA. Went a few times. Only problem was getting wet and cold at night. Went on KRR at 4.75 years again no problems.

DD7 wasn't tall enough until she was 4. DD3 will be able to go in Aug. She'll sit in the captain's chair (the special seat). It has a 5pt. harness, from what I remember. I don't think all of the rafts have it.

Do you still get to sit right next to your child when they do this?? Thanks!

Yes, you get to sit in the seat next to your child. My DD just made the height requirement at 4 and loved it. You will get wet, most likely soaked.

My very-small-for-her-age youngest DD made the height requirement (just barely) when she was 4 in 2007. She got her wristband and got to sit in the special seat.

She absolutely loved this ride, and we had to ride twice - I think it was one of her favorites of the whole trip.

dd was 3 and she loved it. wanted to keep on going on it over and over again

If I didn't hate the ride so much, I'd be taking DD at 3.5. I just don't like getting soaked and then remaining soaked all day. Part of me feels badly because she'll finally be tall enough to ride!
