What is seasonal?? We are going to WDW early December and I am wondering when the seasonal times are? Thank you :flower:

By seasonal they mean if the weather is horrific, they will not run the ride for the safety of the guests.

I figured weather.....extremely cold or likewise. Early December, anyone ever ran into seasonal closures?

The only seasonal closure I have encountered is The Timekeeper. I have never been on that ride :guilty: Maybe next time we we catch it during a good time :teeth:

our most recent trips have been in May and December. Both Kali River and the safari were open every day we were at DAK.

When it gets dark sooner in the day, the safari shuts down earlier in the day.

I was at AK on one of the coldest January days ever-I think they said it tied some all-time record. Even though several other things were cancelled or delayed, Kilamanjaro Safaris was open and I don't remember seeing any fewer animals than usual. However, FOLK was cancelled (something about the cold and the acrobatics-maybe their contract?) and several of the little animal areas around the park were closed. This was about 5 years ago, so I don't know if KRR was open.

Seasonal also refers to attractions that are closed most of the time and opened typically during peak seasons or when large crowds are expected.

"Seasonal" is alleged to have been used to describe attractions that are about to be replaced with something else where there is a period of years where the attraction is only open during peak seasons. Also allegedly this limited operation schedule is to gauge public reaction to the impending closure, or to make the maximum and last utilization of aging and deteriorating mechanical infrastructure for which there is no desire to spend money on.
