Justin Bieber for 8 yr olds?

Help a mom out please .....

Who is Justin Bieber and is his music appropriate for 8 year old girls??? DD8 wants the CD & wants to buy it for her friend's B-Day gift. I've never heard of him before Are the Jonas Brothers out now....I was just starting to like them.

I think he's pop? Kind of like the Jonas Brothers I guess? He's younger and cute. I am guessing that's his attraction? My 12 year old isn't interested so I am guessing he's for the younger set. I think you'll be fine.

My DD is 9 and in 3rd grade. Some of the girls are into him.
I have heard a few songs. They are ok.

While his songs annoy the heck out of the independent woman in me ("One less lonely girl"...barf...seriously I want to smack him everytime my DD listens to that song ) my DD10 likes him and the songs seem pretty harmless. On the Disney level with Hannah, Jonas Brothers, etc.

My 12-year-old niece is convinced she is going to marry him! It used to be all about the Jonas Brothers, but then she discovered Justin and the JoBros fell by the wayside. He became a big sensation on You Tube before he hit the big time. I think P Diddy had something to do with signing him. But his music--so far--is totally harmless.

He's 16??!?! Really? I've seen him here and there and I thought he was 12 maybe 13. He sorta kinda reminds me of Donny Osmond when he was young. My niece is 14, I asked her about him and she said she can't stand him, but some of her friends like him.

He's totally harmless and appropriate, I would think. Cheesy pop songs with nothing racy or sketchy. The kind of music that makes me want to wear earplugs.
