Just wondering...

Would you be in favor of converting Tom Sawyer Island to a Moana Themed Land?

With Disney adapting a lot of projecting images nowadays to many of the parks ending displays, I’ve noticed the tails of the fireworks can be seen again as they go up into the air. They used to or maybe still do use compressed air in launching the fireworks with timers so they explode on the right cues. Does anyone know if they’ve changed back to the older fireworks to maybe even cut more of the budget now that projected images are a lot more cost effective than purchasing tens of thousands if not millions of fireworks every year?
Thanks!

Once the hardware for launching the fireworks with compressed air is in place, i dont think the cost wld be any more than launching with gunpowder, in fact it is probably cheaper and more reliable...especially in that humid florida air! I think some of the fireworks themselves include tails as part of the asthetic but i am not sure they are actually propelling the shell... it may depend on the type of shell and what “look”disney wants.

They are definitely not “cheaping out” on the fireworks the new HEA show uses more fireworks than Wishes and the shows at Epcot use the same as always... the projections are an enhancement but not a replacement. I think they had to cut back a bit at DHS for construction safety reasons.

Not sure why there is a poll at the top of this thread about Tom Sawyer Island, but...

Tom Sawyer Island is a classic, but it does NOTHING for us. I would rather see it rethemed. Not sure about Moana, but I'm game.
