Just Wondering is anyone else upset?

Mickey'sToontown Fair - going buh-bye
Possible makeover of the Winnie the Pooh Area
Tremaine's house- interactive storytelling of Cinderella's story
Belle's village - Gaston's tavern, Be Our Guest Restaurant, the Enchanted Castle (interactive storytelling)
Aurora - Woodcutter's Cottage- interactive meet and greet of Aurora with birthday activities
Ariel - Ariel's Undersea Adventure (clone of the DCA one I believe), along with relocation of Ariel's grotto
Dumbo moving to former Toontown spot, doubling, circus theme, using new NextGen Queue
Barnstormer - rethemed to circus, potentially Casey Jr. theme, only speculation
And Pixie Hollow, which I don't know much about, an it looks a lot better in the concept art than in the model.
**edited because it was originally meant to be temporary, unlike Toontown in DL, TDL..

Thats the only thing I'm upset about. I have so many good memories on that ride.

Honestly i never really liked toontown...or dumbo.
I really love the expansion though.
Especially Belle's village...That's my favorite classic movie and i'm excited. :D

I'm excited....

Except for Pixie Hollow.*headdesk*

How about NEVERLAND?!

Tinkerbell...in my opinion is a brat, but I LOVE her for that, she's so much fun, and I don't like how Disney is making her 'mushy gushy happy.' And giving her a voice. I SWORE I saw an article saying Walt wanted her to be mute, and would hate to have a voice for her.(besides, I like her mute....actions speak louder than words:thumbsup2)Ok, I'm about to go into a long rant...

Otherwise, I'm excited, it seems great, and when it comes to the parks, I can trust Disney to do a great job.

When are they starting the expansion? Can I expect any rides to be down when my family goes for the first two weeks of June?

Well the only rides that should be going down at all would be Dumbo (but that comes later), and the Barnstormer.
Everything else is taking place backstage currently, and eventually (this fall I think) Toontown Fair will close.

So... I don't think anything should be closed in June other than the regular refurbs.. and from what I can tell the only things down in June are the Cantina de San Angel (for an expansion) and they're building a new pool at SSR.

That sounds so cool, I'm probably most excited for the interactive story of Cinderella. Cinderella is my favorite Disney movie, so this just excites me :goodvibes

Oh, that's good, I was worried there would be more down.

::yes::I agree disney will do fine, but im still sad toon towns gonna be gone. like other people said, I have great memories there. At the same time though, it will be something new and interesting so we can only hope for the best!!!
I also agree disney is overdoing the whole tinkerbelle thing. She's perfect just the way she is, and im personally not enjoying how shes suddenly this adorable sweet little fairy with tons of friends. What about the snooty tinkerbelle we all loved in the movie?
While Im thinking of it, does anyone know when about pixie hollow andthe princess area are going to be completed?

Not until 2012/2013.
2012 *should* be the various interactive storytelling, restaurants, (princess areas) and even the new Ariel ride... PH opens later, 2013-ish.

I am excited about the expansion, even more since it won't be starting until after our trip this summer.

I loved mickey and minnie's house, and I was upset at first, but I'm much more excited about what it's being replaced with.

I like that they're adding things in and making things bigger and better, but why fix what isn't broken?

They're changing so many of Walt's original ideas. I mean technology is better now and can make things bigger and better, but they should lave at least a few of the originals.

"Why fix what isn't broken?"
Well.. there's really only two on-stage things being altered here... Toontown Fair (including Barnstormer), and Dumbo.

For years the Florida Fantasyland has been severely lacking compared to other kingdom counterparts. For visitors from DL, Fantasyland is a pretty big disappointment.

Toontown Fair was meant to be temporary, but they kept it. Sad to say, the tents, etc. in TTF are in pretty bad shape, and the land itself feels somewhat cheap compared to the rest of the park.

If they never "fixed what isn't broken" we wouldn't have random drop sequences on ToT, the Christmas lights on the castle, any other form of park than a Kingdom-style park. Plussing is what the Disney company is about, and surely you've read the Walt quotes relating to this:
Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

And relating to Disneyland (the parks in general nowadays):
It's something that will never be finished. Something that I can keep developing...and adding to.

Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.

"They're changing..."
I don't quite understand this statement..

The only Walt original idea they're changing is the placement and theme of Dumbo.
Have you seen the original Dumbo?

Sometimes modifying Walt's ideas is for the better. In fact, look up the Fantasyland refurbishment of Disneyland from the 80's, it's a really incredible thing what they did once more technology and money were available.

Nothing about Fantasyland is changing except the placement of Dumbo, in fact I think this expansion completely on track with the imagination and ideals and customer service we've come to love from the Disney company.

i'm very upset to here that they are changing Rock 'n roller coaster. aerosmith apparently isn't going to be doing it anymore so now it's going to be hannah montana and the jonas brothers. (at least that's what i've heard so far) with a coaster like that i feel you need good rock music. i'm not sure hanna or the jonas brothers have a good song to keep up the coaster's effect :sad2:  :sad1:

As far as I know, that is just a rumor that has no actual backing to it.

Well truthfully, I think classics should stay classics.
Remodeling like they did with Its a Small World is fine but not a complete change.

That's just a rumor. Most likely even if Aerosmith dropped out they'd probably make a generic rock and roll theme.

Just in case anybody's worried about Mickey and Minnie's M&G, just a reminder they're moving to the Exposition Hall on good ol' Main Street.

That's false. Aerosmith signed the contract again, so no changes :)
