I like that they're adding things in and making things bigger and better, but why fix what isn't broken?
They're changing so many of Walt's original ideas. I mean technology is better now and can make things bigger and better, but they should lave at least a few of the originals.
"Why fix what isn't broken?"
Well.. there's really only two on-stage things being altered here... Toontown Fair (including Barnstormer), and Dumbo.
For years the Florida Fantasyland has been severely lacking compared to other kingdom counterparts. For visitors from DL, Fantasyland is a pretty big disappointment.
Toontown Fair was meant to be temporary, but they kept it. Sad to say, the tents, etc. in TTF are in pretty bad shape, and the land itself feels somewhat cheap compared to the rest of the park.
If they never "fixed what isn't broken" we wouldn't have random drop sequences on ToT, the Christmas lights on the castle, any other form of park than a Kingdom-style park. Plussing is what the Disney company is about, and surely you've read the Walt quotes relating to this:
Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
And relating to
Disneyland (the parks in general nowadays):
It's something that will never be finished. Something that I can keep developing...and adding to.
Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.
"They're changing..."
I don't quite understand this statement..
The only Walt original idea they're changing is the placement and theme of Dumbo.
Have you seen the original Dumbo?

Sometimes modifying Walt's ideas is for the better. In fact, look up the Fantasyland refurbishment of Disneyland from the 80's, it's a really incredible thing what they did once more technology and money were available.
Nothing about Fantasyland is changing except the placement of Dumbo, in fact I think this expansion completely on track with the imagination and ideals and customer service we've come to love from the Disney company.
