Just wondering..any other non-talkers out there?

I'm not much of a talker, especially here where it seems I don't speak the language. I talk mostly to the dog. He rarely talks back.

DH is a talker and it's hard to get a word in sometimes. If we are out with friends, I poke him so he'll shush for a moment and I can or someone else can say something.

I have a stressed husband, also, and I know that there are times that he probably wishes that I would shut up , but if he yelled at me for talking (unless a baseball game is going on...) we would be having a serious talk. And I'm not saying that it's never happened, but I wouldn't just clam up and not talk.

There have been some times that I've said something to him and I haven't even known if he's heard me because there is no answer from him, no acknowledgement whatsoever from him. I then ask if he's heard me and his response has been, "does everything you say need an answer?". Uh, some reaction from him that he's heard is required and that response from him hasn't gone over so well with me. I'm only saying this so that you will understand that I've been there, done that. BUT I will not allow myself to be talked to like that without calling him on it. So it concerns me when you say that your DH yells at you for talking. Seems way controlling to me.

Oh trust me I call him on it...but he is just away a lot...and you know. The dog talks to me (out is his one word!!!) and the dog and I always do all our errands together infact we are off to the store now! Have a great weekend everyone!!! Stay dry
