Just wondering about something? I was talking with a friend about the recent sad news about the accident death of the boy this past week at WDW.

I have heard about the sad news of deaths at WDW that happen during some of the rides there the past several years. But I don't think I have heard any kinds of stories like these at Disneyland? Am I correct to think this, or have I missed out somehow on hearing about it?

Thanks

I believe that at Disneyland deaths have been caused by negligence of some kind, whether the negligence was on the part of a park employee or on the part of a guest.

Yes there has been deaths at Disneyland. Mostly due to the guests bad behavior. Like jumping in to and trying to swim the Rivers of America. Or taking off their safety belt and standing up on rides. Getting off of moving rides. Trying to get in to the park without paying and getting hit by the monorail! Yikes! Check out this website, it talks about all the stories, and which ones that are true and which are just rumor. Pretty interesting!

You've been way out of touch, Disneyland had the First Death that was purely Disney's fault.

On Big Thunder Mountain, the maintainence had been deferred and the CM's didn't stop the train when they heard a funny sound. So as the train went around the track, a retaining device came loose and the engine flew off the track and smashed into a guest who died. Others were injured. It's probably the worst tragedy at a Disney park ever. Happened I think in 2002? 2003?

The Mission:Space deaths at Epcot may be due to a poorly designed and tested attraction and thus MAY be Disney's fault, but there is no possible way to absolve them of the BTM death.
