Just when i think i have it all figured out...AKL help please

okay we have finally made our final decision today- i will have to re-book my ress at AKL- changing from 3 nites conciere to 5 nights with savannah view without conciere (rather stay more nights and give up the conciere)
now this is where my dilema comes in...we are staying offsite the first night and were told by reservations that the earliest you could check in would be 8:30 am- well if thats the case no problem- i don't want to go to my room i want to go to the MK, the problem is i want to be able to utilize my early entry privilges but how can i do this if i can't check in- isn't a room key needed to prove i am entitled to early entry? can someone help me- this is driving me crazy

Hi bratray- I may be wrong but I think you can check in whenever you'd like to, 24 hrs a day. If its before midnight you'd be charged for that day, but you can arrive earlier then 8:30am to check in. They will give you your room keys and passes that you need, they might not give you your room location until later in the day. They'll even store your luggage for you until you return later in the day.

We haven't stayed at AKL yet but we've often checked into the Polynesian earlier than 8:30. We used to fly in the evening before our package started and stay off-site. We'd check in bright and early the next day and enjoy Kona ...or Coral Isle Cafe as it was called then....before hitting the MK. Our room was never ready that early but it usually was when we returned after lunch or early in the afternoon.

I checked into the AKL around 7 AM. You should be fine And my room was ready! The only thing I can say is that the CM who checked me in was rather surly. She didn't say more than 5 words to me! I guess my cheerful chatter was annoying

You could always call the hotel directly and ask the front desk, just to make yourself feel better.

We checked into AKL last Oct between 7 and 7:30 AM. Our room was ready for us.

You can check in whenever you would like. They will give you a room key even if your room isn't ready. When your room is ready, their computer will activate the room key you already have, so you don't even have to go back to the fronbt desk. You just call a number they will provide to you and they will tell you if your room is ready or not. When it is you are all set to go straight to your room. The room key they give you early in ther morning will allow you to go to EE at MK. You will just have to go check in super early over at AKL so you can get your key. Hope this helped!
