Last night, my husband and I were trying to decide what we wanted to watch for an in-home date night. I had recently borrowed the Magic Kingdom and Epcot videos that my parents got for our first family trip back in 1992, so we decided to randomly watch them. It was absolutely fantastic! I really preferred these videos to the vacation planning DVDs that they send out now. I feel like the current DVDs don't go into enough detail to really give you an idea of what to expect regarding rides, shows, resorts, etc. These videos, though, were fantastic. The first one we watched was called "A Day At Magic Kingdom" and we followed on family as they rode the monorail to the park, entered through Main Street, and went on many of the rides. It showed the grounds, characters, and the inside and outside of many rides. The Epcot one was the same way.
Why do you think Disney went away from this and on to the current DVDs? Do you think it was a money issue? Clearly, it would cost more to do a special video for each park, not to mention Downtown Disney and the resorts, but watching the 1992 video was more exciting than the current DVDs that they put out, in my opinion.
Also, anyone have an older vacation planning DVDs or videos?
