Just watched last weeks show; Pete it's called TORT reform.

I'm not going to wade into the debate over tort reform. Though I am personally in favor of massive tort reform in the United States, I agree that this is not the place to have such a debate. However, I'm not certain this particular lawsuit falls under that banner anyway.

As was discussed in a separate thread, this is one of those lawsuits that, no matter how plaintiff-friendly your environment is, should have been laughed out of court on its face. A customer who was significantly damaged because they bought a plush Shamoo doll on the basis of incorrect information about dorsal fins? Please. This lawsuit isn't happening because we haven't had tort reform. It's happening because this particular judge was ridiculous.
