Those of you visiting WDW at this time should have been able to see the vapor trail. I could see it from my house which is about 10 minutes from WDW property. We couldn't see it for long, but at least we saw it.
We were lucky and saw a launch on our honeymoon from the boat going over to the MK (the boat was actually waiting to let people to watch it before going over to the MK) and we also saw one in 2000 from St. Augustine. The one we saw at Disney was cool b/c we were on our honeymoon and didn't even know there was going to be one. The one we saw in 2000 was cool b/c we went down to the beach and it was at night, so you could see the red glow and everything when it took off!!
My DH has an office on Merritt Island and he just "had" to go there today to check on something so he was able to see the launch from his office, he said it was amazing...I am so jealous!!!
Pictures of the shuttle launch this morning. My pictures don't do it justice!!! IT WAS AWESOME. We got there about 6:30 this morning for the 10:39 launch. It was a thrill of a lifetime. I have been following space missions for many many years.
