Hi everyone....Just loggin in for the first time....

After having a quick scan around the board I have got to say that there is an amazing amount of information on here.

There also seem's to be a good community spirit as well, which is great to see.

My wife and I have been to WDW three times with a fourth visit imminent

We are sometimes asked why we go back when we have not got any kid's......those people have never been!!

Its a bit different this year though as we are at WDW for a week and then we drive down to Miami to pick up our ship for a seven day cruise around the western Caribbean

I must share one thing with you though. I was checking out the park opening times and the events for the week from Aug 31st to Sept 7th,only to find that we will be missing the "Spectro Magic" parade. This is because it is on the Saturday night that we arrive, (about 8.00PM) And the following weekend it has been cancelled!

I thought I would drop WDW an e-mail just to air our dissapointment. That was two weeks ago. I arrived home from work last night when the phone rang. It was a CM from WDW ringing to offer their appologies. apparently there is a private function....! ( someone's got some money ) and therfore MK is closing at 6.30PM

That's why we go back!!!! Who else would take the trouble to make a personal phone call.

I'm sorry if if I've rambled on a bit. Maybe you already knew about the cancellation. I'm sure you all Know about the level of service!

Anyway, Its great to be up and running on the board. I will have to get my DW on as well. We will need to think up an original "Pooh" related name for her. Helen, my DW, insist's that she is Pooh biggest fan. But we know better, Don't we!!

How wonderful to get a call like that! I know how you feel about Spectro - is there no chance you can make it to MK on the 31st? I suppose it depends on the passes you'll be getting.

Since the user name "Poohlover" is already taken by our Mazzy, perhaps your wife could use the name Jan suggests...... or maybe "Poohslady" ? ( You'll need to check on the user names already taken!)

What a great welcome....thank you all very much, especially for your suggestions as to a good name for the DW. I will have to get her to take look this evening and come up with a good name.

One Big problem is that once she's started talking (Typing) there is no stoppin' her. Well, She is a lady I suppose ( that's no Lady, that's my .........)

As for the Party at MK, you'd think they would have at least extended a welcome to us as well, since we were having to forgo out Spectro'!! I wonder if its Michael Jackson throwing a bash for 'Bubbles'

We had a great bit of news this morning. Our best friends have managed to get a late booking for the Cruise part of our holiday. This is going to be a great time for us. Its a shame that they could not make it to WDW with us.

While I have your attention, could I ask if anybody has some experiances they wish to share. Firstly at the Grosvenor resort. Secondly, Norweigan Cruise Line (NCL). I dont mind, good or bad info. It always pays to be informed and prepared!!

Paul, I know NCL well and rate them very highly, although their fleet is a bit mixed (mainly excellent new ships, a few a bit older and one in vintage years!). Which ship are you looking at/booked on?

Hi again! We stayed at the Grosvenor (DTD) in 1999. Hotel basically absoutely fine. Nice character breakfasts, rooms adequate (although I have seen a few negative comments on the US boards . . . might be worth doing a "search" under Grosvenor).

However, from our point of view we'd stay there again. Great location, pools are good (if a little small). Our housekeeper kept DD entertained by arranging her cuddly toys etc in a different way each day . . it's those little touches that make you feel special

Hi Simon, Its great to hear that you rate NCL highly. We are booked on the Norwegian Sun. She celebrates one year in service on the 10/9 while we are onboard. I hope they have a birthday party!

The other day I did pick up on your post from some months back about the NCL cruise deals. Can't remember the title of the post. I did put a reply on it with more details of our particular cruise.

This will be my first cruise, I am looking forward to it immensely. My wife, and our two friends that are comming with us, have been on cruises previously, so they have been telling me what to expect.

Mrs Dazzle, thankyou for your response. I have done a search and have noted a few comments about the Grosvenor by our American cousins.

However, generaly it does not seem to be so bad. My DW and I both feel that the hotel is just a roof over our heads, just as long as it does'nt leak, anything else is a bonus! We are usually up and out early and back late. Although we will take swim in the pools, and most probably have a meal there as well.
