Just verifying : Buy DDP on site?

Hi folks,

I'm just trying to get my feet wet for our upcoming Disney Marathon trip in January.

I have read posts, but still am unclear on one fact:

I know that as renter of DVC points, I can get the DDP. My question is, can I get the dining plan when I check in (as a renter) or does the owner need to put the ddp on when reserving?

Also,

What is the current DVC price of the DDP? Is it a different price than those getting a room from Disney?

The DVC owner must book the DDP BEFORE you arrive. You pay for it when you check in. I believe the price after Jan. 1, 2007 is $38.99/person for each person staying in the room. You must book the plan for everyone in the room and for every night of the reservation. Have fun!

I don't believe you can book the DDP when you arrive. Member Services told me in March we had until 3 weeks prior to our arrival to make the decision. Current cost is $37.99/day for adults.

Member services has said that it needs to be purchased in advance, but this July I was able to purchase the plan at the concierge desk at the boardwalk. I had gone back and forth about adding it and decided against it. When we checked in I went to get a print out of our reservations and the person behind the desk suggested that it would be a better deal and she let me sign up thier.
