Just us or is taxing A LOT at D/FW "normal"?

DH and I flew from Omaha to ONT and back, connecting both times in Dallas/Ft Worth. That airport is on our list of "Only If We Just Absolutely Have To."
We spent almost as much time taxing as we did in the air!
So, is D/FW usually bad, or did we just happen to hit it bad coming and going?

I used to live in Dallas. It has been my experience that your experience was totally normal for DFW. My DH says that the airport is like everything else in Texas - way too big.

We didn't think that the D/FW airport was so big. They are certainly lacking on runways or don't know how to manage what they have.

It is definately not unusual to taxi for quite a while at DFW Airport. IT IS HUGE.

For comparison, the Walt Disney World resort consist of 43 square miles. That's twice the size of Manhattan, or comparable to the size of Boston.
