Hi after being told there was no availibilty on thursday to upgrade I phoned agin last night and have now upgraded to club level at universal RPR. Cost another $40 a night +tax so not bad.Just thought I would share it with you.:lovestruc

That's not bad at all! You really have pulled out the stops to put together a really special trip this year. I hope it is even more magical than you could possibly dream ..... :goodvibes

I think this calls for a dance! :dance3: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Hi Im also going to stay at one of the Universal hotels but not sure which one yet did you do your reservation through a travel agent or through their own website?
we plan on only doing the one night so that we can do 2 days at the parks as we have already booked 3wks at AKL so we are just going to take a night out from that hotel to stay their as we wanted to enjoy City walk without having to go bk get changed and then get another taxi in ! or going in on a seperate day as i think when we did that last trip it cost about $60 each way (ouch) i see we are on holiday at the same time I love the DIS boards as i can get soooo excited with everybody else:woohoo::woohoo:

I booked with loews direct but they said there was no availibility for our 5 nights just a king for 3 of the nights. It would have cost $100 a night to upgrade plus they would have charged another $80 a night for the first 2 nights as we would have lost out on the stay more save more deal. When I phoned universal themselves they had availibility for our whole stay in both a king and a queen (which apparently was the last queen room:confused3). This cost us just the upgrade of $40 + the tax each night per room. I have worked it out that breakfast and a few coffees everyday will cost that so all the extra food and drink will be a bonus. We are having a couple of early finishes as the parks close earlier(seaworld) and want to enjoy the pool so for us it is a good option. Will still be eating at Citywalk as want to try bubba gumps and pastamore.
Took us a while to decide to upgrade but glad we have after doing a few sums. Not big on cooked breakfasts so suits us fine.

Tinkpea like kev said you are probaly best to book direct but remeber you will have to pay for the night when you book.Anymore nights and you only pay for the one. They still have staymore save more on but not sure if they offer anything for just one night.

try travel republic and hotels .com. Remember you can get cashback through topcashback/quidco of 10 or 12%.Every penny counts.hope this helps.

Thanks guys that is a help yep i have an idea of when im going to stay but i am flexible so will call them and see when is cheapest ......Bubba Gump is one of my hubbys and I fav place to eat we LOVE IT!!:) my mum has never been and so this is one of our reasons for wanting to stay at a Universal hotel so she can eat at Bubbas and not be too tired with a taxi journey home!

Were planning a universal hotel in April for 2/ 3 nights while were there b4 the cruise. but cant decide which one....well actually can but each pick diffrent ones, am looking to book soon too, the kids are excited to go to the new Harry Potter world.
