Just turned 3 at buffets?

Actually about 6 years ago at the GF Park Fare buffet when my oldest was a very tall 2 1/2 the waiter did charge for her when we got the final bill even though we had said her age on the PS and at check in. We told him her age and he did take it off the bill but I did get the feeling that he thought we were pulling a fast one! Especially since she could really eat! I don't know if I would have felt kind of silly whipping out a copy of her birth certificate to show the waiter!

I think you would be safe with not paying, and I agree that you should not feel obligated to carry a b/c. They will not ask her age. and basically I believe the policy is because 3 yr old eat more then 2yr olds.. why pay if your just 3 yr old isnt going to eat but a piece of toast etc.

Do what you feel right with... there will be differing of opinions, but you need to do what you feel best.

Quick Funny.. my just 3 in April.. has been saying since she understood that she was 5. Why? Because she has to be 5 to ride the school bus and she CANNOT wait to do that with all the other big kids. LOL silly kids.

I have been watching this thread and finally had to comment. I have taken my daughter to WDW 4 times and three of those times were before she was 3. Hey - she got in free and I bought an annual pass! Worked out well for all of us that year! I called it my quarterly Disney trip!

Only on the last trip before she turned 3 did a waitress ask how old she was - but she is a big kid and could speak in full sentences. (My husband is 6'5") When my daughter answered "Firteen!" (or "13" in 2 year old speak) The waitress laughed and that was it.

No one ever questioned us going into the parks - even after my 7 year old step daughter asked at the park gate why Katie didn't need a ticket.

So, my point being, I doubt anyone would ask or question you. So it will be your call.

My fear for my next trip is that my step daughter is nine, but she is huge! She is almost as tall as me and wears my shoe size. (remember - my husband is 6'5") I don't want her to be embarrassed when she uses her "children's pass" or when she eats at buffets. She is shy and gets embarrassed about her size. I guess I will deal with that issue then.

We were asked in several places when my daughter was just shy of 3. At Liberty Tree Tavern, they charged for her and I asked them to take it off and they did. She is fairly tall, and extremely articulate, so who knows what they thought. I knew the truth.

Anyway, when we last went back, the kids were 10, 8 and 4 (almost 5) and at Ohana none of us at much of anything - didn't even finish our first servings and the 4 year old ate almost nothing. The waitress came by and said, "I'm putting him down as under 3, he didn't eat anything." I said, "But he's almost 5!" She still took him off anyway. Needless to say, she got a nice tip, and we weren't complaining. So, it can happen. I wonder if it's more likely to happen if the whole family barely eats.

Once you give Disney Dining your phone number, your whole Disney history shows up. They know quite a bit about you already.

So if I already said previously my DDs ages, they'd know that.

Yesterday when I called and plugged in my phone number and then the CM came on to help me he said "I see you are coming in August and October". I was surprised and then he went on and told me all the times I've been to Disney and where I stayed!!!
