and were we ever surprised! We've stayed at the Boardwalk and even though it is a lovely resort, there didn't seem to be any special feelings for us.

But the Yacht Club! :lovestruc

The room was covered in hidden mickeys - from the carpets - to the walls- to the furniture - to the lamps - and more! We had a beautiful view of the marina. It was so much fun to wake up and watch the marina come to life. The evening view was breathtaking!

24 hour room delivery was a plus! We are a late night family and there have been times we skip dinner for fun and then regret it when it's 1 am and we're hungry back at the resort. No problem here!

One member of my family was a die-hard Polynesian fan. But one day in Stormalong and that was it! He is now a die-hard Yacht Clubber! The pool is worth it all!

Has anyone else enjoyed this resort too?

Glad you enjoyed it! We stayed there in Feb. for the first time and agree that it's great. Unfortunately the pool was down but it was too cold to swim then anyway. I found it so much more quiet and reserved than the BC, there were kids melting down everywhere there! I tried to talk DD9 into it againgfor her birthdya trip in June but she wants to go back to WL, of course after this past weekend at the GF the wallet says "Thank you"!

We too, have enjoyed the laid back, almost serene atmosphere on several occassions! ::yes::

Oh my beloved Yacht Club! I welcome you to the family!

I think the YC is probably the most romantic and beautiful resorts on property. Even more than the GF. ;) We really enjoyed our stay there. :)

OMG!!!! We will be at the YC May 10 thru 17--our first WDW
vacation, just me at DH :smooth: we were booked at the BC,
then changed to a waterview at the YC when the AP rates
became available :goodvibes . put in request for king bed,
non-smoking, crescent lake view, do you think that is
reasonable and likely? I was so excited to see this post
since there are lots on the Poly, AKL, etc. but not too much
on the YC. based on the above posts, I believe we made
a good decision!! can't wait!! :boat:

Bugsy, the waterview is great! We got an upgrade from standard with AP in Feb. and were very pleased. Your requests don't sound too hard, I can't see them not being able to grant them. We were on the 4th floor, looked out at the Boardwalk, and when the fog wasn't bad we had a view of Illuminations fireworks from the balcony. Enjoy, it's comfortable, quiet resort that just feels "old time classy" like you expect to see Jimmy Stewart, Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant from the Philadelphia Story. Maybe it's seeing the classic wooden Chris Craft boat tooling along the lake..............

That classic Chris Craft boat is called "The Breathless" and it's wonderful. For a real treat try to book a Breathless Illuminations cruise. They have other Illuminations cruises but the Breathless sits in front of the other boats just under the bridge from the UK to France in Epcot. It's truly a memorable event. The water view concierge is top notch too. They have the best planning staff on property. You'll love the balcony looking out to Crescent Lake and at night there is honestly not a better view than the Boardwalk all lit up in it's finery. I even like it better than the view of the castle from the Poly (minus the fireworks of course). I could see Illuminations from our balcony but don't let that be the only way you view it. There's alot going on at water level in Illuminations that you won't be able to see from your balcony. Still, it's nice once you've seen the whole show. I guarantee you will not be sorry for booking your stay at YC.

DH and I are going to try out the YC this summer. I've heard nothing but good things. Every time I read a post like this I am doing this

:Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

so is it true that there are now refridgerators in each room of
the YC? are they already installed, or do you need to request
one? and am I correct that all rooms also have a hairdryer,
iron, and ironing board?? what about hangers? should I bring a
few? I'm so excited, I can't stand it!!

Fridges are in a cabinet in the dresser, which by the way has a lot of space for storage. Hairdryers, irons and ironing boards are in each room. You can always call housekeeping for extra hangers. They seem to have <10 wooden ones but they are the kind that you canactually take off the rod as a complete hanger so some may go missing thanks to guests. I was really surprised to find a large supply of hangers at the Grand Floridian this past weekend. I actually had enough to hang everything I needed.

Oh I get so excited when I see someone going to stay at either YC or BC for the first time. Have a wonderful trip, you'll love it!

:teeth: I'm so glad to hear so many good things about YC!!!! :teeth:

We are booked there June 2-11. This will be my 1st time to ever stay there (or in an Epcot resort for that matter). I have only stayed in monorail resorts and once at the CBR. This will be my DH's first time to ever stay on site (I have been trying REALLY HARD to convince him that it's the only way to go). Hopefully our stay here will help me out in that regard ;)

We've stayed at 9 resorts now if you count Dolphin and YC is favorite!

We were there 3/24-30 and it was a great trip dispite all the Easter crowds. In fact, I originally had French Quarter but given the crowds decided it was well worth the money to have the location and so many more dining options.

We also had a std room at AP and at check in, the CM gave us a ground floor right at the marina! It was a great room--a little different than the usual. It was room 1061 right across from the laundry. Had king bed, sofa, chair and ottoman, wet bar, coffee pot, fridge. The bath set up was unusual for disney because it did not have the outside vanity. Everything was in one room and you walked in a very short hall w/small closets on both sides. We stopped and thanked the CM for the terrific room. It was fun to sit outside in the morning and have the ducks walk over to you looking for treats!

I'm sure we'll be back in the future!

I really enjoyed my stay there, too. I was bummed we weren't able to get in our last trip - we waited too late to make ressies. I'd definately go back for a future trip.

We too are at the Yacht Club May 11-18 and it is a wonderful place. The pre-planning staff at the Yacht Club has been the best I've ever worked with this trip.. Alana has been my contact and she has been the best!! The Yacht Club has always held alot of magic for me and it seems to touch alot of people like that. I am glad to see you enjoyed the Yacht Club.

Thanks for the report and welcome back!!

IT'S THE BEST!!!!!!!! shhhh...don't let it out thou! ;)

We love the Yacht Club as you can see in my profile. We've stayed at several resorts, but the Yacht Club is special. Welcome! :)

We generally stay at SOG, but when we don't, YC is our favorite, hands down.

After one stay at Poly and two at BWI it will be a shot at YC for us in Feb. Kids really want SAB. DH and I a bit worried it won't have the same feel as BWI but after reading this enthusiastic post we are really looking forward to it! We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for an AP code or something to help with the cost a bit!
