HI all!!
New to the boards. Have been a Passsporter poster for awhile though...

I'll make this quick for now, I'm sure I'll be lurking/posting lots in the near future.

My question is this, because I am having a hard time find this type of info on line or from Disney (haven't called them yet, but will be in the next few days I think)-

Can anyone give me info etc. on wedding plans at Disney if it's just the bride and groom? I know it's been done, but can't find to seem much info etc.?

As of now, we're looking at a date of Jan 16, 2007.....

If anyone can help out, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!
Lori

Have you checked our disenyweddings.com or yourfairytale.com ? They provide you with information regardging Inimate weddings which it seems like you're interested in. This feature allows you to have as few as 2 or as many as 18 guests (depending on location). For a set price (~$2500) you have the option of having your ceremony at Sunset Pointe (Poly), Sunsrise Terrace (WL), Yatch Club Gazebo, or Sea Breeze Pointe (BW). For about $3500 you can have your ceremony at the wedding Pavillion. The Intimate package includes:

An Intimate Wedding Coordinator to help plan and execute your wedding.

A personalized wedding website. Launched once you have booked your wedding, Your Wedding Website will detail your event and provide important information for your guests. After your special day, it will display all your pictures and enable you and your guests to order prints online. The bride gets to choose from six color palettes.

Choice of fresh flower bouquet for Bride and fresh flower boutonniere for Groom.

Wedding Reception including an Elegant Two Tier Wedding Cake with keepsake topper and one bottle of Fairy Tale Cuvee for the toast, served by Host/Hostess.

A Violinist for ceremony and cake cutting reception for outdoor ceremonies. Events at the Wedding Pavilion will have an organist at the ceremony and a violinist at the cake cutting reception.

A four (4) consecutive hour limousine charter for transportation on your wedding day for you and your guests.

A professional Disney Photographer to capture your ceremony and reception. Twelve (12) photographs in a white, embossed portfolio album.

A Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Wedding Certificate.

Thanks RangerPooh-this is pretty much all the info I could find. I was really looking for someone who knew anything about what is (if anything) is different if it's only the bride and groom.

For instance, I dont' think there would be a reception, per se...can we just have dinner somewhere? If we don't have a reception, can we still get characters at some point since they're not allowed at ceremony? What are 2 people going to do with a 2tier wedding cake? Is that the smallest one available? (Although, I supposse we could bring it home to share with family...)...

sigh...I hope someone out there can help?

Thanks!
Lori

You can definitely have dinner somewhere!!! That's what most of us intimates are doing anyway!! You can just plan a reservation at the restaurant of your choice and you can wear your dress ( as long as t's not in the parks). You would probably still have your cake cutting so you could have some pics of that and you could have Mickey and Minnie come for that part of your day. As for a smaller cake -- I am not sure, but that one is the standard for the wedding -- so you might as well just take the larger one, since it is included!!! Good Luck -- there are lots of people on here that will have tons of info for you!!

You might as well go with the 2 teir cake, even if you make it smaller you wont get any money back. As for what to do with it, you could save the top layer for your anniversary. We brought it home and it's now in our freezer. The bottom layer makes a great breakfast before you head into the parks. If your staying at a moderate, deluxe, or dvc you will have a fridge in your room to keep the cake.

You could also take it to your dinner, and have it as dessert. You would still do the traditional cake cutting for the pictures at the wedding site. But then your EM would box it up for you to take with you.

Welcome! And Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! There are lots of girls (and guys) on these boards that will be happy to give you any information, advice, opinions, etc. with a smile :teeth:

hiwaygal was married just she and DH and from the pictures she has shared it looked lovely! You would get the same things as the standard Intimate package and you can add on anything you want, like characters. Have you looked at the various locations on-line? Our Intimate was a magical day, just perfect :cloud9: DFTW knows what they're doing that's for sure!

We are doing a VR next May for our 20th anniversary and it will only be Hubby and I. We are going to do a 4-day cruise and do the add-on. Don't know alot about what will happen on the cruise, but it will be really special. Good luck with you planning. I can't call to add the package until I am a year out, so I can't call until May 1st.

Hi Lori...I sent you a PM but I thought I'd respond here quickly (I'm getting ready to leave the office so you know I'm "in a hurry" ;) )

Anyway...you will still have the cake and champagne "reception"...and I wouldn't "skip" that part...it's a chance to talk with your EM and your photographer and listen to the violinist...it's your first chance after your ceremony to kinda slow down and take a breath and EXPERIENCE your excitement and happiness.

Later you can have dinner wherever you chose! And letting DFTW set it up for you kinda "guarantees" the waitstaff, etc. knows it's a special day for you!

We had the standard cake...and it was DELICIOUS...but, yes, a little big. You might check with your resort to see if they can freeze it for you to take home...we ended up giving the bottom layer to the CM's at our resort (kind of a long story).

I hope that answers some of your questions...

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Happy Planning! And feel free to PM me if you have any other concerns about having a "Just Us" wedding! :)

My close friend Jo and her husband had an Intimate wedding just the two of them at the Wedding Pavilion and after seeing their wedding video I just thought it was perfect. They even got Rev. Jack to do a presentation of roses to the camera (actually this was his idea) to their parents. I really thought that the WP would look and feel empty with just the two of them but OMG it didn't because themselves and their love for each other filled that Pavilion, let me tell you.

They had the cake and violinist and champagne on the Terrace at The Grand Floridian and then they had dinner at Victoria and Alberts, it was all truly romantic and makes me smile thinking about their pictures and video again.
