HELP - we were booked at WL Woods View Bunk Beds ( kids 13,15), then came FREE DINING - sooo - we switched to Poly Garden View (queen beds). Did we make the right switch?? I am second, third and fourth guessing --- HELP!! Please someone tell me that Poly beats WL. Every thread for each place swears by that hotel, and we have never stayed at either, so I an worried. Any help will help! Pools, food court, rooms, etc. comparisons. Thanks!!!:goodvibes Jane

I have stayed at both Resorts and I enjoyed the Polynesian a bit better then the Wilderness Lodge, so I think you made the right decision. The volcano pool was great and Captin Cook's had a nice selection of food to choose from. The only thing I can't compare are the rooms. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge before their room renovations and stayed at the Polynesian after their rooms got renovated.

I have stayed at both the past 2 years.

They are both excellent. However, the Poly is the ultimate Disney stay for our family. Being able to access both the resort monorail and the Epcot monorail with a quick walk over to the TTC is next level.

You're gonna love it.

:thumbsup2

We were booked at the Poly for our trip in September. We took a day trip over to check out the hotels to make sure we made the right decision. We liked the Poly but were blown away when we walked into the WL.

We liked the idea of the monorail but didn't think it was worth the difference between the 2 places. We came home and switched out ressie to the WL.

My family has stayed at both the Poly and WL and we love each for different reasons. Our last stay was at the Poly you will absolutely love being on the monorail it makes it so easy to get to and from MK, the pool at the Poly is my kids favorite, and it is such a relaxing place Don't second guess your choice because IMHO you made a great one

We've stayed at both and we think they're both great resorts for different reasons as well:thumbsup2 The Poly has the monorail, the convenience of watching fireworks from the pool/beach, and the rooms are larger. The WL has an AMAZING lobby and the surroundings are breathtaking:goodvibes We are staying at the WL in December because we think the WL has the best Christmas decorations of all the resorts. But we will definitely plan our next stay at the Poly:cool1: :cool1: You will love the Poly, but honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either resort:goodvibes

You made the right choice. While the WL is nice, we LOVE LOVE LOVE the Poly, and are returning there for the third time!

Spent 2 vacations at the Poly last year and I'm staying at the WL for free dining. The Poly wins for transportation hands down. But we chose the WL because we could do deluxe dining there vs reg free dining at the Poly for a few, I mean like $10 difference. That was the decision maker for us. You can't go wrong with either! Both are great resorts for different reasons. If it wee a late Nov/Dec trip the edge goes to the WL.

I think you made the right decision. The Poly is a beautiful resort. It has a wonderful pool, big, spacious rooms, wonderful views of MK and the monorail right at your front door! Both are great resorts, but I think you'll be very happy with your new choice! :)

Location, location, location!!! Monorail!!

Aside from that, you will be surrounded by paradise. Walking in the evenings to tiki torch lit pathways is beautiful. The volcano pool is relaxing and looking out and seeing Cindy's castle is a bonus. The GCH has great shopping, restaurants, and an intoxicating aroma. We looooved the Poly. It was like having two separate vacations - the parks and the tropics. Enjoy!!

I'm probably not much help when it comes to decisions. But we have stayed at both of these resorts twice and love both of them. You can't go wrong with either one. Both have really nice refurbed rooms and great pools. The advantage of Poly is the monorail of course. Though you can boat to CR from WL and hop the monorail or boat to MK. The advantage for WL for you would be bunk beds. Which theme do you like better?? Both resorts are just so well themed. Good luck deciding and have a great trip.

We have stayed at both. We do like both places. We liked Poly's rooms much better. We also liked the food court better at Poly. My husband is not a fan of roaring forks. We thought the rooms at WL were just okay. Although the lobby is wonderful. You can't beat the monorail!!

We've also stayed at both. It's hard to chose really. I like WL because of its themeing, but I also love Poly for that very same reason. The WL transportation is not comparable to being at the Poly IMHO. I like the convenience of the monorail. You can also walk to the TTC if you are going to EPCOT instead of riding the monorail around the lagoon.

The Poly has two queen beds and a day bed which is pretty large. DS always wanted the day bed and there was never an argument between DD and DS about who was sleeping where.

You'll have a great time at Poly!

Thanks everyone!!! I feel much better now. With the kids ages - 13, 15 - the extra room at the Poly will come in handy this trip.

Just a couple of more questions if you don't mind - Any opinions on;

1 - Kona for Dinner (just the two of us) We love it for lunch, but never had dinner.

2 - Bathrooms in the rooms - Every other resort at Disney has had separate sink area from the bath and toilet. Pics I have seen are confusing - some show one sink, some two, and some look like the sink is inside the bathroom. With four of us getting ready at the same time, it has always been helpful to be separate. POR even has a curtain between sinks and beds, so changing is easier (boys, girls). Are the bathrooms at the Poly a problem for anyone?

Thanks again for all of the help!!

P.S. Kaysmom - I will always be a Jersey girl too!!:goodvibes
