We have been to Disney several times, but this will be our first trip to Universal. I was wondering...

1. Is it an easy walk from PBH to HRH, or do you need to take a bus?

2. Does PBH honor the Loews First benefits if you have the Entertainment rate?

3. Is there a place to grab a quick coffee and a muffin at PBH, or should we eat at the parks? I am not a big breakfast person.

Thanks in advance. :D

The walk from PBH to HRH, you can do it, although it is not short...you may want to let the boat drop you there.

There is a coffee place, small market where you should be able to grab a muffin and coffee in the morning. After 9/11, it had wierd hours, but it should be up and running full hours by now.

PBH, some people get lucky and get the free upgrade, some don't. It just all depends on the person who checks you in and their mood!

PBH is excellent, enjoy!

just a note on the coffee/muffin place...very overpriced for a self serve place (If I remember correctly my small nonstarbucks coffee that I poured myself was around $2.50). The second day we stopped at the little bakery at the entrance to IOA, coffee was better and cheaper, also more variety of pastry. I was very surprised to find that, for the most part, food was cheaper INSIDE the park. Overall, though, PBH is a BEAUTIFUL hotel, everything is done right. The beach pool is wonderful, I love the waterfall jacuzzi!!!

The person at the desk can upgrade you (with or withou your Loews card) but the perk is not applicabe with the Entertaiment rate. In other words you're not entitled to an upgrade but if you're lucky the desk clerk might upgrade you. Definitely book what you want. The walk is about a mile (20 minutes)

You can take the shuttle or the boat if you prefer. It will take you 20 minutes to walk the path to US from PBH.
You can also make coffe in your room if you don't want to pay the high prices for breakfast foods. You can get coffee and muffins etc. at Sal's market or the Gelateria. I like to garb one of those huge muffins on my way out of IOA and then make the coffee in my room the next morning.

I am pretty sure it was the Gelataria that sold the overpriced coffee, I don't think Sal's was open in the morning when we were there. Sal's did have pretty good pizza. We sat out on the courtyard one night a split some pizzas and salad, it was probably the cheapest meal you could find at PBH, and was just right for our family after a long day at the park.
