I don't see too much written about the Fairfield, so I thought I would post my experience. DH and I don't like motels, but we wanted to be within walking distance and not spend $300 to stay onsite. So, we thought this would be our best bet.
The lobby was very nice (not fancy though) and the front desk staff was really nice and friendly. We were able to check into our room at 8:30am
. The room was very nice and clean. We had a king bed with a sofa sleeper. There was also another arm chair. It was nice to have a little living room in the room. There was a fridge but no safe. There was Pantene shampoo and conditioner. A body bar (soap) and facial bar and body lotion. Plenty of towels and pillows.
There was a gift shop with snacks and stuff. And also a little food shop with a mini pizza hut and coffee shop. They also had cereal, snacks, sandwiches, salads, sodas etc. A pretty good selection. There was a computer in the lobby with a printer so we were able to print our boarding passes.
We were very excited that we got into our room that early so that we could relax a bit before heading to the parks (we only had that day). We ate breakfast at Millies Restaurant, right in front of the hotel. It was pretty good with great service. We timed the walk and it took less than 10 minutes to get to the security line.
Everything was just great until we went to bed. I don't know if the walls were particularly thin or our neighbors were particularly loud. But they were soooooooooo loud. If I hadn't taken a sleeping pill that night, I wouldn't have slept through the night. They talked loudly, they yelled loudly, they banged things, it was crazy. This was both after I went to bed (at 10:30pm) and before I woke up (9:30am). I could clearly hear most of thier conversations. And it wasn't muffled. At nearly every hotel I've stayed at I could hear muffled conversations of people next door or walking down the hall. This was unbelievably loud.
In the morning, I noticed there was a lot of light in the room. The curtains didn't go all the way down to the bottom of the window, so there was a lot of light coming in. Also there was a pretty big gap under the door. That could account for a lot of the noise too. We were on the front side of the building so we had a great view of the parks. But I did notice that there was a LOT of highway noise on the back side of the building. I'm sure that could be heard from the back rooms as well.
DH and I were all ready to book our next trip at the Fairfield. But after all the noise we experienced, I'm not so sure. It was just so incredibly noisey. We may just have to go for a real hotel that is further off site with a shuttle.
Other than the noise though, we were thoroughly happy with the Fairfield Inn.
