I have few questions I hope this is the right place to ask em! We are planning to drive to disney from PA... with four kids ages, 7,6,4,1 (the 7 yr old is my god son) What month would be the best bet? :confused3 March, April or May? I'd love for it to be high 60's to the mid 80's I'm trying to avoid the higher temps because of my 1 year old. :sunny: Also during past springs did they offer any discounts or free add ons? I know Sept is usually free dinning. Thanks for any help or tips anyone has for me! I'm VERY VERY excited about going!! I haven't been there in many many years! It will be our first family trip to Disney!! :cloud9:

The only thing about Spring will be the Spring Break crowds. We went in 2002 the end of April into early May, we stood in line for 1 hour and 15 minutes to ride Peter Pan and it was 92°. I just remember this because DD (then 2) fell asleep in my arms and she was drenched with sweat. I think Feb. into early Mar. might be better for temp & crowds. We prefer Oct., even though we are going MidSept. I know it's going to be really hot but not too crowded.

We have been in April & May and personally I enjoyed May the most. It's in the middle of the Flower and Garden Festival and it's after the Spring Break crowds have gone back to school. As for the weather, I thought it was perfect. It was pretty warm but I didn't think it was unbearably hot. The averages from Weather.com should give you an idea of what the weather is like...

hth!

We go in April as DH is a teacher so we have to wait for Spring Break, the weather was in the mid to upper 80's. I went pregnant last year and with the baby this year and found it bearable weatherwise and crowd wise. The best thing to do IMO is to research, research, research for the best deals and to avoid waiting in lines. Since Spring break is sucha busy time, there are usually no "freebies" but you never know. We are going the first week of April next year. I would love any special offer!

I went with my school band in May and it was lovely, all the flowers in Epcot... It was a little warm, you might want to go earlier to avoid the heat, it might be to hot for the baby…

I stated earlier that it was really hot & crowded when we went end of Apr into May. I do remember CMs commenting that it was unusually hot for that time of year so I don't think it's always that hot. The crowds for us were bad, of course we're used to Sept & Oct when the crowds are fairly low.

Okay so what about late March early April? how are crowds? The only time I was there (ahem many many moons ago. oh my it must be going on 15 years now! YIKES!) Was the week before Fourth of July, I remember being so hot I didn't want to do anything plus the crowds!! NO way would I ever do that to my kids! Of course this was all planned pre internet days, I would hope my parent's just didn't know any better! I really really dont want to wait til the fall. All of this will be paid for with income tax money and well if I have it I'm gonna spend it, gotta go before it burns a hole in my pocket

hope you have a blast!!! i recommend end of march, first of april....we go during the kids spring break each year, stay onsite and have a blast....the weather is great, and with early entry, emh, and fast pass we never miss a thing, even with spring break crowds...if you haven't been in a while another thing you might check out is the new disney photo pass....photographers will try to take your family photo and give you this card that looks like a credit card... at the end of your trip, you can purchase photos from the pass or buy a cd of the entire stay...$99...i LOVE mine!!!

my kids by the way are dd 12, ds 6, and ds 1

WOW that photo thing sounds awesome!! SO much to learn!! Feel like I should have started to plan this a year ago!

We were there the first/second week of May in 2003, and loved it so much that we're planning our upcoming trip there for May 2007. Like someone else said, it's after the spring break crowds and before a lot of colleges let out, so the crowds are very manageable. It was warm, but I sort of like it to be *guaranteed* pool weather, since we spend a lot of time swimming/relaxing. I would think late March/early April would be GREAT crowd-wise, and great weather-wise, though there's always the chance that it'll be a cooler spring and so not *quite* so "pool friendly". . .

We went April 17th last year for 9 days and it was perfect weather! We had one morning of rain (the last day). At first, I was overwhelmed with the crowd as soon as we walked into MK. The very first time I was there was in 1976 and I can remember actually seeing pavement----this time, there was no pavement but just TONS of people. I thought, WHOA--this is gonna be crazy!

But after 9 days, we got used to the crowds and I really didn't think it was that bad. I'm always one to think it's crowded there no matter when you go. That's why they've invented Fast Passes! :)
