I'm so excited! After two days in training I know I'm going to love this job. Every person I've met has been wonderful and the company has it's employees interests and quality as it's top priorities. I'm really thinking Disney needs to take a page from their book. Now, if I couldn't only convince Starbucks to approach Disney for a coffee deal for the parks...

Great!:D
I'll have a grande caramel frappucino light please:teeth:
It's my new favorite.

I'll have both of those right up! One of the best parts is that I get to drink whatever I want 1/2 hr before, during, and 1/2 after my shift for free! I've come home sooo buzzed.

Congratulations on the new job. Can I please have a grande Vanilla Bean Creme Frappucino? :teeth:

:hyper: Is that what you look like when you get home?

Congrats on the new job!

FREE coffee.....Pretty good perk there. I love Starbucks!
sounds like your going to have a lot of fun with the customers.
Why is it when I order a coffee there it's so strong. I have to have them stop half way up and fill up the rest with cream, then it's how I make it at home.
My friend tried a cup and she said... if I kept drinking it that strong I'll grow hair on my chest:eek:

Congratulations! I work at Barnes & Noble Cafe, which sells Starbucks drinks, so I had to learn the same drinks. I thought it would be impossible to memorize all the recipes and measurements, but I had all the frappucinos down in the first few hours and knew every drink after the first 2-3 days!

We don't get to have free drinks though that's not fair! We get half off on anything we buy there, and we also get to have any order we mess up on. I'm sure you're going to love it there. I've never worked in any type of cafe before, but I'm having a lot of fun where I work, and I've only been there about a month.

Congrats!

The folks at our local Starbucks work so hard and are so nice. The only part that doesn't seem great is having to speak that Starbucks talk. (One grande half caff americano with room.....)

Congrats and have fun! Seems like a fun place to work. A while ago, I was actually reading about the company, and it seems the managers can do pretty well there. :)

So, you'll be able to tell me the secrets of making a perfect Venti Sugar-Free Vanilla Non-fat Latte...Right? :teeth:

P.S. They REALLY need sugar-free caramel!! :)

Congratulations and enjoy!! My current favorite quad venti non fat latte:drinking1

I keep filling up my Starbucks giftcard this way my DH has no idea how much I spend each day:p

To answer your question, it's so strong because Starbucks uses a much higher grounds to water ratio than you probably do at home. It's 2 tbsp coffee to every 6 oz. water. They recommend this ratio when you buy their coffee to brew at home. However, even the woman who trained me today said that she always adds extra hot water to dilute the coffee. It also has to do with the beans being higher quality than most other brands and the roasting process.

Also, I'd love to give all the DISers free coffee. I know you all deserve it!
