OK, long story short-I was fortunate enough to get 2 pins about 6 weeks ago. We got 40%, then free dining. We booked POR with Free Dining.:cool1:Mom and Dad are supposed to join us but now might not. I was thinking of upgrading to CR. From what I read the 40% is a better deal. Anyway, my point...I called and talked to a CM, actually spoke with 2, both said that you HAVE to have the pin # when you call to get the deal?:confused3 I also asked if I called back with the pin # if they could see if there are any other codes attached to my name, they said no.

I keep reading about people "finding out" they had a pin. Both CMs told me they have "no ability" to see a pin code? What're your thoughts? Anyone know the truth?
 
I called and asked if I had a pin attached to my name. They checked and asked if my husband would be going with us because there was the 40% under his name. I wrote the pin # down and called back a few days later. The CM said that was incorrect but found the correct one for 40% off room (turns into more than 40% if when you book a package but can't figure out the correct %). So, yes, two CM's looked it up for me. Turns out after all this my dh had the email with the pin but didn't know what it was.
Keep calling. I'm sure you will find a nice CM who can help you.
 

I have called 2x and the CM was able to find a pin code attached to my name. Most recent was the free dining pin that I had before it was released to the public. Sounds like you just need to get a CM that is willing to help.
 
Sorry I am not understanding original post....I have never got a pin so dont have a clue what it looks like or what is on it.....you said you got 40% off...is there no pin on it???:confused3
 
I just did the same... I went through 2 cm's that gave me the line that they were not allowed to look that info up... then on the 3rd call found a cm that looked it up for me:thumbsup2

I did have the 40% off pin code attached to my name in the system. It is for Aug-Oct.
It was no good for me as I am going in july... I have the 4/3 deal on our package but am paying full rack rate for our 1 night stay, room only the night before our package starts. I was hoping to save a little on that 1 night stay ;)
 
Ok are you ladies just calling and asking or are you getting email/mail with a code and then have to call?
 
I just called the number.. I never got an email or anything.

I read this about the 40% discount and thought I would give it a try~ I was hoping the dates would be for when I needed them but they weren't...
 
They absolutely CAN see the PIN codes!

On more than 1 occassion I have received PINS without getting them by email or mail. I've called and the CM has told me I have a "special PIN offer" attached to my household. This happened in 2008 and this year. In 2007 we received an actual postcard PIN. I'd say keep calling back! :thumbsup2

After I booked my special PIN offer that the CM told me about I called back a day or two later to cancel my free dining bounceback. I booked the PIN for the Poly & CSR from Sept 24th - Oct 3rd. Our free dining bounceback was originally booked as Oct 8th - 15th. The CM accused me of trying to "cheat the system" :headache:

First, I told her I wanted to CANCEL the Free Dining bounceback.

Second, I asked her HOW I was cheating the system by using two different promotions SEPARATELY!

She put me on hold for 15 minutes, threatened to cancel ALL my reservations and void my PIN. It was some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced at Disney! I ended up speaking to a supervisor, who apologized profusely, and cancelled the free dining as I had asked. Sheesh! :lmao:
 
Oh wow really....we are going in July also with the 4/3 deal, but I priced out the Free Dining and I can save $1365. going then.....but my dh doesnt want to go then....:mad:
 
I just called Disney to see if I had any PINs attached to my name and the CM helping me said I had 2, one that wasnt coming out for another couple weeks yet, anyways I asked if they werent supposed to look them up she said if you call and say I want to know if this pin offer is still good they will look up any that you have on your name....Hope to help someone, I was lucky and got a CM that was nice the first try:)

Oh my gosh! What are you going to do??? That means you have a great deal in the starting blocks and you can't know what it is??? How exciting.

I never get the emails. If I read about pin codes on the boards I call and see if I might have one. :goodvibes

I just called again...Unfortunately my 40% has expired and there is nothing I can do. This CM also told me that there was no way he could tell. WHAT IS Up WITH THAT?!

I know I probably won't get better than free dining but what if something else comes up...
 
Well I just called and she said that if I had a code I would get an email or something in the mail...oh well maybe I will try tomorrow morning....:confused3

Yeah - the 40% off expired March 31st. It stinks that you got a crappy CM the first time around - they can see pin codes, I called and checked a few months ago. Then a couple of days later, I got the email with the 40% off pin. Would you have gotten the dining plan either way? We are going after free dining, but we are getting the dining plan and free dining would save us more money.

Though I guess it does depend where you are staying, we are staying at POP so the 40% only saves us $40 per room - we have two rooms - so $80 per night x 7 = $560. The dining plan for 3 adults and one child is about $130 a night x 7 = $910.
 
I was toying with the idea of upgrading to CR and I knew the 40% was better for that, but I booked POR with FD. As of now we're staying at POR. If I get a good pin I will consider upgrading.

but yes since I know there is one attached to me, I will definitely be calling back in the next few weeks, I asked her if she knew how often they came out with pins she said no that was all marketings doing.....she said it looked to be like free dining for kids and free kids tickets but didnt want to quote that/......anyways I will be calling and hoping to get nice CMS if not I will call back till I do :rotfl:
