Just Sold SSR---What Next?

The DH and I were notified last night that our SSR shares were sold. We are purchasing another contract at a different WDW Resort, through the Timeshare Store---can anyone tell me what happens next? I know that we have to get through ROFO, but don't really understand all the ins and outs ....can someone help?

The TTS rep should walk you through exactly what will happen.

There really aren't a lot of ins and outs. You make an offer on a resale contract, the buyer accepts (yes you can negotiate) and then it's submitted to Disney for ROFR. If they waive that, you buy the resale and it gets recorded and the info sent to Disney.

Once you're in their computers you can start making reservations. It's pretty much as simple as that. Of course, there are papers to sign, etc. But like I said, I guarantee you that your rep at the Timeshare Store will be happy to give you a step by step description of the process.

Granny is right. Contact your agent and ask about the process. They will be happy to answer your questions. That is their job, to walk you through the ENTIRE process.

Not to be too nosy, but how long did it take to find a buyer for your points? (We're listed with them too for SSR and I am anxious to sell - I know, I know, must be more patient).

About 2 1/2 wks---stick with them, not only did we sell SSR but bought a resale---nothing at all against SSR, SSR is a beautiful resort, our heart just lies elsewhere.

It is beautiful. Everyone here will think we're nuts for this...we're selling to buy a (deluxe) pop-up camper to be able to take to Fort Wilderness, Myrtle Beach and wherever else we decide to go.

You would be correct! We love Wilderness Lodge---worried sick over whether or not we're going to pass ROFR! Silly me, I never really gave it that much thought...then last night it hit me---SSR----gone, VWL----well, who knows, all depends on what the poweres to be want.....
