What a great deal, thanks to the kind person who sent me a referral. Nice $25 for WDW and I've already gotten my sister to sign up so another $10.

That's right! I can get my sister to sign up her and her 3 kids for an ING account! She is now also addicted to Disney so she will want to start saving for next years trip! I at first thought I had no one to give my referrals to, but now I do! :bounce:

I don't know what ing is.Can someone send me info on it.If i sign up I'll put you as my referral.

Thanks, Ticketwm35

i just sent you a pm on ING and what it is. I didn't want to paste it here since there are other threads explaining it and the threads tend to get too long.

Again, check your private messages.

As a reminder to the newbies...Here's a link to the guidelines for ING threads that BethR posted about not asking for referrals or saying you have plenty to give...no soliciting of referrals.

If you'd like to open an account, just privately ask anyone whose posted in the ING threads and include your first and last name and email address and they'll be glad to help you.

A Word (or a Few) About the ING Referral "Thing," PMs, and E-mail

Well, seems as if the ING "Thing" is becoming a hot topic once again on the boards. And there has been some discussion on what we do and don't want to see on the boards.

Let me tell you my interpretation on what we don't want to see on the boards regarding the ING "Thing."

We know that once people find out about ING and the "free" money for referrals, everyone is excited and eager to "share the wealth." Even more so, we know that people are eager to have people help them to get $10 for a referral.

But we do not allow people to solicite others on these boards to get or give referrals.

That means no
"PM me for more information about ING."
"IM me for more information about ING."
"Would someone PM me a referral?"
"Would someone e-mail me a referral?"
"I just opened my account and I have 25 referrals left. PM me for more information."
And so on and so forth. I think that you get the idea.

If you are interested in getting a ING referral e-mail then it is your responsibility to contact someone who may have one. If you see someone who is involved in discussing the merits of an ING account, you can be pretty sure that they have referrals to spare. You can PM (Private Message) or e-mail someone for information. You can PM or e-mail someone by using the appropriate button below their name.

If you have referrals to spare and are interested in others contacting you for one, you have the ability to receive e-mails or Private Messages from the boards by turning on these options in your User CP. You do not need to tell people to PM you, or to post your e-mail address in a post. If you choose not to get pop up notifications for your PMs, then you can just check your User CP regularly.

An occasion personal message is not a problem - for instance, sometimes someone's PM Inbox is full. (There is limited storage of PMs - both received and sent - so you need to delete unneeded ones every so often. ) You may see someone posting a message to that person that they need to "clean house."
But to constantly see people pointing out to others that they have sent so-and-so a PM or e-mail, or have received a PM or e-mail is not necessary since this all can be done - how else? - through e-mail or PM.

The ING "Thing" really IS a great thing. (Hey! Even *I* FINALLY jumped on the bandwagon a few months ago and I have been saving monthly with it. ) And we all want to make a few extra dollars. But we must be fair. And this is the best way that we know of to do so.

I hope that I have clarified things somewhat for all of you. If you have any questions on any of this, feel free to ask.

BethR

I opened my ING account and already have 50 in referrels. It is a really nice way to make some quick money for WDW in September. I was leary and talked to my husband before I did it and he had already heard of it and had me transfer my sons savings account over right away. Great customer service as well.

I'll soon be opening my account -- thanks Laura :cheer2:

Are the referrals only through email? I received an actual letter from ING bank but did not notice anything that it might have been a referral from someone. Must have been a fluke. However, it was fun asking a few people if they might have sent it to me. Now they are interested in ING too!

Except for my husband of course, who is still leary about the whole thing. Well he can just watch my savings grow, then. I don't think he'll be complaining come January when we are spending that money in WDW!

Can someone PM about this? Thanks

Just read up on ING here, there are plenty of threads on the topic and then if you are interested, just PM someone with your info...first and last name and email address and someone will be happy to help you out.

No asking of referrals or stating you have plenty available allowed on these threads or they will be deleted or closed.

Hooray!!! I just started saving for my WDW trip next year via ING.

Thanks Guys for the info!

I just signed up for my account.Do I have to wait to refer my DH or can I do it now?
Thanks,
Misty

As long as you can log in, you can start referring!!! It's at the bottom of the screen on the blue bar, right in the middle!

I dove head first into the ING pool. It sure was easy! They seem to have lots of safeguards against identity theft, which was good, but having my credit information to answer questions about already was somewhat unnerving. My mortgage guy/ friend says it is pretty quick to get info about anyone nowadays! As I have said before, you guys are the best!

Microcell, I felt the same way when I saw my credit information pop up so quickly!! But, I did do some checking on ING before I opened the account and I did not find anything unsettling. I would never have found it had it not been for these boards!! Thanks!!:sunny:

My husband feels the same way....."Not over the internet I won't".....*SIGH*

What I like is when you sign on not only do you need you customer number and password, but they ask a different question each time for verification. It makes it seem a little more secure.
