His classes start February 3rd. My hair will be completely gray Feruary 4th:rolleyes:

You will be fine...I think gray hair is making a fashion comeback. ;)

DH has had *plans* for dd's since birth (literally) .
You can get your license to drive (with parent) on your 15th b-day. So DH plans to take her out in the YUKON SL. He figures if she learns how to drive in that first, everything else will be a piece of cake.
He can't wait...me well...I will join you in the gray hair club, except I have 3 more years.

:D

WARNING...WARNING...WARNING
Make sure to check your insurance plan...I almost "lost it" when I found out how much it cost to put an underage driver on mine. In any case, "Congratulations" ;)

Me (17) and my brother (15) are both taking our permit tests this week. I wonder how my parents are feeling since they will have 2 kids wanted to practice driving with them everyday!

Oh Boy. You won't have any fingernails either. I actually did the parent-taught drivers ed with my DS. I won't do it with DS #2 I'll either sign him up for driver's ed or have DH teach him.

Here you don't have to put your kids on your insurance until they actually get their license - not just the driving permit. But yes, it is expensive:(

DS turned 15 1/2 in December. That is old enough to get his permit and he is driving me nuts to go take the test.

He is taking a private driving course. Today and tomorrow he will be in the classroom and then he will also get 3 driving lessons in the next 6 months with an instructor (in between we are supposed to work with him on his weaknesses). He will actually be allowed to take his driving test through the driving school when he turns 16. Our school system only offers drivers ed in the summer and he turns 16 in June. He didn't want to wait until after summer school to get that license. ;)

I guess after he does the class work tomorrow, I have no excuse to delay getting his permit. Besides, I already have plenty of gray hair, so a few more won't matter. :teeth:

Our priest always makes kids come forward when they get a permit or a license to drive. He makes a big deal out of having them promise to be careful and drive slowly. Then all the adults make sure they say something to the driver during coffee hour. DS has been looking forward to that attention. It is a rite of passage in our culture, I think.

That sounds really nice, MP!! Can't hurt to have some prayers. ;)
