UGH! I didn't KNOW!!!! JetBlue released fares today for our trip dates around 3pm and i found out at 6pm. As I was trying to figure out how to split my party on the way down to use points I watched the rates rise. Our flight home from MCO was over $2300, more than round trip for 3 in May 2014. If fares somehow go down between now and then can I request any sort of refund?

I haven't even checked JetBlue lately. SW has much better rates and direct flights for us. Don't know where you are flying from but we fly out of Albany, NY and I booked flights for November for $238/per person round trip.

What airport are you flying out of?

Flights for our October trip from WA State to Orlando were around $440 each round trip I think so I can't imagine you'd have to pay more than that considering we're flying across the US! Did you check other airlines? Also, usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the best days to purchase airline tickets.

You have 24 hours to cancel without penalty. If you find a lower fare after that, you'll have to pay whatever the flight change fee is before you can receive any credit. This fee will likely negate the savings in the difference of the flights. Call Jet Blue to confirm tho'.

I am glad I don't fly to WdW. Can't imagine going anywhere on a regular basis that has to do flight travel. We do fly some. But check flights before we book anything

JB used to offer a credit to your Tru Blue account if there was a price drop but they stopped that a few years ago.

There is something wrong with JetBlue fares right now. If I book a round trip flight from Portland, ME to Fort Lauderdale on JetBlue.com it will cost $1200 per person. If I go through Google Flights it is $296 per person.

I did this in May...you have 24 hours to cancel your flights. If fares drop within 2 weeks of booking then Jet Blue will give you the difference in Jet Blue credits. I did it twice. The second time I was able to use the credits to book my next flight while on the phone with their rep. If you cancel after the 24 hours and want to re-book, they will charge you a $150.00 re-booking fee per ticket.

Flying out of Syracuse. The flight is almost entirely booked, and all dates around it are the same fare or higher. I am flying down one day later than I planned to pay $177 a ticket instead of $542. The syracuse area is on spring break so they must know they have us. I am booking for next April, I wonder if I should cancel today. I have checked all the other airlines at the airport, and I could pay a small amount less but no direct flights. Guess it's time to ramp up the savings.

you just made my heart stop. we're in syracuse too. we're looking at going that time and i too just checked jetblue. OUCH!! what the heck jetblue?!?! i'm hoping there's an error or something because if that's the cost of the FLIGHT then we might have to rethink the whole trip.

School break airfares are always 2 or 3 times the norm whenever we consider traveling during that time. Supply and demand.

I had been anxiously waiting my Jetblue window opening. Then it opened and I was horrified. $650 per person round trip for the direct flight. I'm used to $200 pp round trip for the direct flight on the day the fares open.

I checked Delta which has a layover in JFK, $285 pp round trip. Seemed like a great deal, so I booked it.

Then, yesterday all the fares from Jet Blue were taken down, so I called, and the rep explained that the fares were wrong, and even she was shocked at what she saw, and they hoped they would repost the correct flights by the afternoon. Now, I read somewhere that by law a customer can cancel within a 24 hour period for a full refund, and sure enough, Delta offered that. So, I waited with baited breath for the new, correct JetBlue fares.

They did repost the flights, and, mine was the same.exact.price. The direct flight was $650.

Now, I do understand I'm traveling around school break, but, not until 5 days into the break, on a Tuesday. And I'm flying home 2 weeks after break starts. I expected to pay more for the trip down, but, coming back on a random Monday in February 2 weeks after President's Day shouldn't be so ugly. Oh, oh it was.

Guess who is flying Delta this February? This girl.

flight prices are crazy right now. We have always been able to fly at reasonable rates. We made the decision to drive down in September instead. I can't justify spending a $1700 on flights when i can drive down. It isn't my first choice but we are trying to stick to a strick budget and it will be impossible to fly and stay within budget. I have enough hilton points to get free rooms for the drive there and back. My dad is letting us borrow his new car so i am thinking we we can make it there and back on about $300. Much better option than flying!

I got really good rates from Jet Blue. Round Trip from New York to Orlando was only $282.

Just cancelled and booked out of albany for 700 less. Not ideal but now I can sleep tonight. To my fellow syracuse dis member, flights are almost sold out at hancock and jetblue rep could not tell me if another plane would be added or not. Fares out of Buffalo are better than Albany. You might want to try that? I am still in shock over the fares on the release day. Whew!

delta has decent prices, but there is a layover. which for us is annoying, but worth it. all hope is not lost!!! (so - how many people from syracuse will be in disney this week?)

I finally purchased tickets for October on JetBlue - they have consistently been higher for this trip than I have seen in a long while. For several years we were able to fly nonstop from Boston to MCO for $250 or less on Jetblue but our last couple of trips have been higher than that. For this October trip I was only seeing flights close to $400 or more. The finally came down a bit this weekend and I was able to get nonstop for the times I wanted at around $307 per person including the bags (ugh, Jetblue, why did you add bag fees?) I am pleased overall but yeah, their flights have been higher than normal recently.

Can you fly into Tampa? I had a similar problem out of Philly in Nov. and we flew to Tampa and rented a car. Turns out it was Jersey week, which I never heard of, but lots of people from NJ go to FL that week and that was why the prices were so high. The whole Tampa thing went flawlessly, it was an hour drive to Disney and we liked having the car anyway.

Flash forward six months, and I found flights for all five of us for a grand total of $595 round trip from Philly to Orlando, using two free one ways from Southwest miles. It's just insane. I can't understand airfare.
