After reading a thread yesterday about regrets, with the most prevalent not doing it sooner and not buying more points, I decided to add on more points.

I know they received the docs yesterday (tracked 'em). Will I be able to amend the contract to get more points? I tried calling my guide and left a message. Should I call QA or MS as well?

You should be able too. Congrats and WELCOME HOME!!!

You have 15 days (give or take I'm sure) to cancel the contract you just submitted. I have no doubt that they'll be happy to tear that one up in lieu of selling you more points!

Depending on how many points you actually bought though, you may want to consider two smaller contracts. For example if you bought say 200 points and want another 100, you might be better to have two 150 point contracts. That way if you needed to sell one or both of them, you may sell quicker with smaller contracts. Just a thought! At this point in time I cannot honestly say I have any intention of selling mine! :wizard:

We did the same thing. Bought an add on about 2 weeks after we first bought in. Might I suggest you do the same. That way you'll have 2 seperate contracts should you want to sell one in the future. Unwittingly we did it the right way. We now have 4 seperate contracts and we can sell any one without effecting the others.

Listen to what's been already said.

Keep whatever the current amount is and do an add-on. Don't just make the original contract bigger. I'm sure they would work it out for you but you would be better off in the long run with an add-on, thereby having 2 smaller contracts than one big one.

We DIDN'T do that. We decided to add on more after we returned from WDW, less that a week from when we signed. In order to get the incentives with SSR, it made a whole lot more sense to us to re-do the contract, adding 50 pts vs. adding on at a later date. Granted we are dealing with 250 pts...not a 400+ contract which maybe would fit the "selling off" scenerio better. Wonder what the OP bought and wanted to change to....

All we had to do was contact our guide and it was a done deal...(well except with the stupid laws of Colorado, but other than that it was good!)

I called the day after they recieved my contract for 350 points to change it to two contracts of 175 points each and they not only changed it but I recieved the new contracts two days after I called. I am sure that they will do an add on for you.

I bought 250 points at SSR during F&F, and the following week added 125 for SST and 125 for VWL all through Disney - 3 separate contracts all with same year use. I still need more points, and will probably add another 150 before the end of the month. The add on is easy - you won't need to change your original contract.

Thanks for the replies.

I talked to Byron on Sat (he's the best) and he's taking care of everything. We're basically just increasing our contract to 200 pts. There will probably come a day when we want (and get!) 500 pts, but for now, just getting started, we don't want to be "house poor" so to speak. I'm already puzzling over what to do with the extra points. At 200, it's more than we can realistically use annually for a long period of time. I've got 4 trips planned over the next 2 years, when we've done WDW only twice since 2002. But the extra points will help with any every-other-year flexibility (like a bigger room or more time in peak season).

Excellent advice, though. As I expected.
