Just say no! ...Wait, what?

Let's put it this way, do you ever hear about them on the news? (do you read or watch the news?)

:cheer2:

I've heard about them.
Those commercials where some object is talking to them.
I've seen one where it was a Jamaican mask:
"You. You ah high. You ah in no condition to drive'

I have heard about them, not as often as alcohol related crashes.
And yeah I watch the news. I don't read the news though....I still read at a kindergarten level.

If I didn't care about people having their names ruined forever on a public board, I could name you alot of people my age, who I know or have seen who smoke pot.

Unfortunately its a pretty common thing at my school, I can smell it in the hallway where my friend's locker is every morning and every lunch hour. The guy I have a crush on right now smokes pot, and so do alot of other people in my classes. I don't know how the administrators could be so blind; they say they try and stop kids from doing drugs and yet its so obvious that alot of people are doing it.

I wish I could just shout at everyone: ''Open your freaking eyes!'' :sad1:

Er...

Pot smoking isn't that big of a deal now. Sure its illegal to possess it, but you can't get in trouble for being under the influence of marijuana. Plus, marijuana doesn't have that many long term effects.

Not that I smoke pot. Drugs and alcohol just lead to bad stuff. Just kinda dumb.

6 to 11 percent of fatal accident victims have THC in there system. That isnt nearly as high as alchol related fatal accidents but it still is a pretty significant number but that may be in part due to less people smoke than drink. There have been a growing number of tests showing long term negative effects of pot smoking alot more of them have been inconclusive. Within the next 10 years we will be seeing some really big results with long term testing though.
Just because something is labeled as a drug does not necessarily mean it is more harmful to you than something not labeled as a drug. Smoking paint is not healthier than smoking pot. Alcohol is far worse for you than weed is.

This is true, but how many driving accidents have been caused by marijuana use?

:laundy:

Maybe that's because its for one an illegal substance, and a little harder to get your hands on then beer which you can get at any super market. Also people might be less likely to drive under the influence because they would not only get a DUI, they would also get in serious trouble for being under the influence of something illegal.

well this is what I think:
Drinking is bad if you overdo it-at our age we really shouldn't be drinking unless maybe a little sip at someone's wedding, that probably sounds really babyish and stuff but alcohol is a type of drug and it can, like other drugs, be addictive. When we get to 18 and we can legally drink then we should be really careful how much we drink and know when to stop. Going over the limits just makes you do stupid things and you'll regret what you did the next morning. It is more mature to know when to stop than to join in with the crowd and go crazy.
Drugs are just as bad..we should never have any illegal drugs, they can damage our bodies and cause serious harm.
Back in the 60's or whatever people weren't as well informed into the dangers of drugs, drinking and smoking so that's probably why more people took drugs.

Anyway...woah got that off my chest :)
