Just saw Loretta Lynn in Concert

Wow. I just have to say that the woman looks GREAT for her age and health. She is recovering from double pneumonia (did I spell that right?) and was having trouble remembering the words to some of her songs but she just made fun of herself and kept on going. What a trooper! No one can pull off a pink sparkly dress like she can!

Mike Wallace from 60 Minutes was there too doing a segment on her. We had comp tix from Loretta and there were 2 empty seats next to us (5th row center). One of the supervisors of the venue came and sat in one of the seats just before the show started and told us that those were Mike Wallace's seats and she would have to move when he came out! Well Mike ended up sitting in an empty front row seat instead but how cool would that have been to sit next to him at the show.

Anyway, if she comes to your town GO SEE HER! She is so funny and fiesty that you cant help but have a great time.

My DD9 absolutely loves her!! I would like to take her to see Loretta in concert...but she doesn't come close to us very often.

My dad played steel guitar for Loretta Lynn MANY, MANY years ago. There used to be a country radio station in Atlanta (WPLO) and they would have these concerts where they would take the back of a tractor trailer and open up the side for a concert stage. He was one of the local musicians who would play for these people whenever they came into town. He also played with Dolly Parton, Porter Wagner, and some others I can't remember.

So glad to hear she's doing OK. I'd read that she was having serious health problems. Glad you enjoyed the show.
