Okay, everyone go out and see this movie...I loved it as did my bf. Meryl Streep was excellent in it. I highly recommend it!

Doh!

:faint:

During the movie, my boyfriend leaned over and said "her voice reminds me of 101 dalmations' so it had me thinking of Glenn Close.

Thanks..I edited!

I saw it this afternoon and I enjoyed it. It was quite funny I thought. The ending was a bit predictable. But it was good.

I saw it on Saturday and I loved it too! :thumbsup2

I saw it on Sunday, I loved Meryl Streep she was the best but the clothes, oh those gorgeous clothes!! I must admit the clothing was what I enjoyed the most. The outfits they had on Ann(e?) Hathaway were to die for!
Highlight this next little section I am talking about only if you have seen the movie--don't want to "spoil" it for anyone:
The ending kind of left you wondering "what the heck?"
Her boyfriend gets a job in Boston, asks her to move with him then she gets a job at the New York Mirror :confused3
Would have loved for Andrea to get together with Christian Thompson--he had so much more potential than he did in the book IMHO

There was not one man in the entire theatre! popcorn::
After it was over my DS's girlfriend and I both agreed that we made a wise choice not inviting the guys :thumbsup2
They would have never let us live it down, dragging them to a "fluff" movie as they would surely have called it!

The movie blew--but the book? It rocked!

I know!!!!!! I enjoyed looking at the clothing and accessories more than the rest of the movie!!!!! I couldn't wait to see what they were going to wear next!!! Oh, to spend an hour picking stuff out of that "Runway Magazine" clothes closet!!!!! I would kill to do that!!!!

When I went to see it, this little old lady and her husband sat next to me! I thought it was so sweet!!! I would have owed my DH big time if he came w/me to that movie!!!!! I suppose if we were dating, he would've taken me to see it ... which makes me sort of sad b/c that older guy was more than happy to take his wife to see the movie and all I got from DH was "have fun!".

Anyway, I was talking to my friend about the movie and she said she'd have quit that job after a day. I said that I could take it *only* if I were getting all those amazing clothes!!!!!!

I loved the movie! Now I have to read the book. Actually there were quite a few men in the theatre I was in. I was kind of surprised. The clothes were beautiful! I felt sooo unfashionable after the movie!

This is one time that I disagree. I didn't care for the book. It was a huge disappointment for me. The "Andrea" character whined too much in the book and the abuse went on and on and on. The movie was just more "fun."

Hey! I haven't seen the movie yet! Next time type SPOILER. You just gave away the ending! (I removed that portion when I quoted your post). :guilty:

While I do not think the movie "blew" (I give it a 6/10), I DO agree tht the book was great. In the book, Miranda makes Meryl Streep's interpretation seem like the Blue Fairy in Pinochio by comparison.

And the book's ending was (IMHO) MUCH better & much funnier.

I want to read the book now since I just finished another great one by Harlan Coben.

There was an older man with his daughter and grandson, and a man taking his gf to see the movie, when we were there. However I don't think it's a surprise 2 gay men wanted to see this! ;)

the clothes were awesome!

Oh come on! The title said "Just saw......" of course the OP is going to be talking about the movie!

Anyway, DH took me to see it Monday night and we both really enjoyed it. The theater was packed (mostly woman).

I thought the book was much funnier, but Meryl Streep was awesome as Miranda. They really cut down the character of Lilly in the movie though.

Agreed! :thumbsup2 I think it's unreasonable to expect a thread discussing a movie that's been out for over a week to not contain discussion of specific plot points. If it's that important to you to remain spoiler-free you should have been more careful.

I enjoyed the movie but liked the book a lot better. I felt that Miranda was a little too sympathetic and "real" in the movie... I enjoyed the ridiculousness of her in the book a lot better.

Plus, I'm annoyed and perplexed by the change in the ending.

Sorry but we were discussing having seen the movie so I talked about what I had seen in the movie in relation to the book :confused3 --the title of the thread says "Just saw Devil Wears Prada"

I love this movie. i had no intention of seeing it. I actually went to see superman. but it was sold out, so we decided to see DWP instead. I loved it. I want to read the book. (there were like two guys in our theatre to the 40 something women. it made me laugh)
