That's impressively scary fast. I wonder if they bought them just to get a stay at opening week or something. I can't imagine any other reason that it would be up for sale this fast! Also it isn't enough of a savings off of full price that I can see buying it - as new owners, we paid the $150...I just...wow.

Really? Use your imagination. Husband died. Wife died. Child got terminal illness. Family member got severe injury. Lost their jobs. Got first dues bill and realised addonitis was a mistake... There are any number of horrible life events that could happen after buying that I'm sure could lead to any owner wanting to sell.

Edited to add some happier ones. Wife decides she really wanted to stay home with new baby, family cut expenses, including dvc to make it happen. Dad/mom decided they wanted to be home more with kids so they cut down on overtime, dvc had to go. Surprise baby on the way, cut dvc to save for college fund. You don't always have your life planned out perfectly, situations can change on the drop of a dime.

Maybe they just realized that 50 points doesn't go very far at VGF

There have already been two completed and recorded sales of VGF. They beat the opening of the resort; they were recorded in early October.

Why not?

DVC's price is $150 so they're asking $5 less. Total savings is $250. Not a large sum but still $250 in hard-earned money.

There are virtually no VGF resales available. The only other option is to buy direct at DVC's $150 price with no negotiation. Is a $145 asking price so offensive that you'd pay MORE to DVC to buy direct?

If I were selling I do exactly the same thing. Maybe be willing to take $140. Doubt it would take long to find a buyer.
