Just Saved over $400 using Disney gift cards purchased at Target!

This would be such a MIRACLE if this works! I have to admit I am a bit nervous about this though. What's your plan at the register if it doesNOT work? I need a plan!

Demand to speak with a manager and if he or she doesn't put it through rip up the coupon in frusturation and throw it in their faces! Then cry because I just ripped up my 20% off coupon that I could have just spent on other things.

Lol. At least that's the way it plays out in my head. I have an overactive imagination.

Anyway what I will really do is probably just put a few of the cards back and just stack my pharmacy rewards with my RedCard discount. Gonna figure out all of the limits and costs and fun stuff ahead of time so I know exactly how much to get :) Going to DLR and Club 33 this Sunday! WOOT!

Maybe my Target stocks more than others but when I bought 75 a few weeks ago they had about 300 per hook and there was a hook on each checkout aisle plus in the electronics area. It's a pretty small Target too but an affluent area. I think they really stock up before the holidays. I've bought a few bunches of these and only 1 cashier had seen anyone else do this so I think it's still pretty unknown. I need to use my Disney reward dollars up so I'm not buying any more but will be sad passing up such a good deal if it works :happytv:

My 20% coupon was in my email this morning at 4:59 am (I'm east coast). Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Got my email coupon this morning too. I'm going to buy my cards tomorrow regardless of whether or not the discount works - my final payment on my Disney trip is due tomorrow! Poor CM when I call in to pay off my trip for 6.

This is the way it is at my Target, too. I am planning on getting about $3K in cards tomorrow if it works, and that would not even make a dent in the supply of cards my store has. I have been getting Disney cards at Target for over a year and I JUST noticed that there are totally full hooks at the second row of registers - my store almost never has those open since they are never that busy (at least during the times I shop). They've also added at least 4 side-of-the-endcap displays in various spots around the store (toy & holiday section) that have 40-50 $50 Disney cards on them.

Wow - I'm jealous! I went into my Target & COUNTED the Disney cards - and there were exactly 25 - in $25 denominations... I asked if there were more & 2 different clerks looked at me like I had snakes growing out of my head!!
Happy shopping & have a great trip!

FYI...CM's love payment calls, even with multiple gift cards. As a courtesy, please scratch off the last four digits on each card before you call. Calls are timed and long calls can result in bad scoring and less per minute pay.

I'm so nervous about this. Between annual dues and two trips we have planned next year, I could use about $5000 worth of cards. I would save so much money if it works. I plan on trying several targets if I have trouble.

Good luck everyone.

It's because they read the DIS, and they know we are coming!

That's so unfair! I hope taking the survey at the end of my call helped out my CM then. :) She was FABULOUS! I had about 18 cards, which she actually said wasn't that many, but I still felt terrible about it. But she was super sweet, and after the first few cards we had quite a rhythm going, lol. But yes, I was scratching furiously away because I hadn't even thought to scratch off those last numbers! Also, we noticed mine were in numerical order, so don't mix up your cards after you pull them off the rack. It helps a little bit when you're reading them off.

I bought Disney cards to get my coupon( i have bought several cards in the past from same cashier) and the cashier was pretty adamant that the coupon would not work on the Disney cards. I hope she is wrong.

My cashier was adamant that the coupons were not being given out until the 1st... so I don't think that they always know what they are talking about. On a different occasion one told me that the RedCard discount would not apply either so yeah. I wouldn't go off what the cashier tells you.

We all just have to hope for the best tomorrow :)

So i have a red card but only 500 limit and i plan to buy 100 Disney cards with the 20% coupon. Does anyone know if i can get the debit redcard and use $5000 worth that day to maximize my savings or am i out of luck on stacking the 5%?

I have cash and money in the bank. Just need to know if they limit the debit in the beginning.

No offense to any cashiers here, but I find them to be the least reliable source. The shoppers on the DIS tend to know more :santa:

Yeah, Target places a pretty low limit on new debit cards, so I doubt that will work for you. Plus, I know my bank has a daily limit of $1000 on debits, so I had to call and have it temporarily raised for this weekend.

Thanks for the heads up.. Guess I will just be happy if/with the 20% :)
