Just Returned using DDP! Any Questions About These Restaurants?

Raglan Road was WONDERFUL!! :cool1: It is now our favorite Disney dining spot, hands down! We actually cancelled an ADR at another place to eat at RR twice. :thumbsup2 The first time was an early dinner (5ish) and very relaxing. The second time we planned a late dinner (9ish) to check out the entertainment. What a wonderful time we had! At each visit, the service was excellent, the atmoshere was warm, inviting & relaxing though fun, too! The food? Two thumbs up! I will post what we ordered below. :upsidedow

We loved it too last April and are going again in August. The beer, food, and entertainment were great.

-Pepper Market- Tell me all about it.

Sorry it took a bit to get back to you about The Pepper Market! :)

The “system” at The PM is easy. A host/hostess seats you and each person is given a “ticket” and a menu. Your server will then bring you your choice of drinks. When ready, you go to the various open-air stations and order what you like. The card is then stamped and you receive your food. Drink refills are brought to you and the tables are cleared for you. At the checkout, you simply hand them the card(s) and pay (or present your card if on the dining plan) 10% is automatically added (included if on the DP) unless you get your food “to go.”

Here is what we had:
-Chicken Quesadilla: Huge, fresh & yummy!!
-Wet Burrito: Again, huge, fresh & yummy!!
Sampler from the Wok Kitchen: Bourbon chicken, stir fry beef with noodles & an eggroll. The chicken was ok but the beef was tough & dry. The only disappointing meal we had at the PM.
-Prime Rib: You are shown the piece for your “ok” which was cool. Absolutely delicious and the horseradish drizzle was soo good! It was served with the sweetest grilled veggies and a huge baked potato with various toppings-all as a CS on The DP!
Ribeye Steak: A bit thin yet grilled just as asked as quite good!
-Smoked Turkey Club Wrap: We got two of these “to go” for dinner at the airport. Huge with a ton of flavor. Came with cole slaw & chips.

Note: Most of the portions are HUGE and more than enough to share!

Desserts were limited on The Dining Plan: Assorted pastries, cookies and ice cream sundaes. One night we got plain vanilla ice cream in large cups to which we added rootbeer to make floats “to go!”

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and food although the “mood” of many of the employees put a bit of a damper on things time & time again. And we were certainly not the only guests who noticed-it was a complaint among many. :confused3 And check-out seemed to take longer than our meal several times. Yet a good expereince none-the-less. :upsidedow

No kids meals-my DS10 is now an "adult" on the DP. The entertainment started about 9ish and made for a fabulous evening! :thumbsup2 Here is what we ordered-sorry so long but we can not say enough about RR! So wonderful we ate there twice during this trip! :cool1:

Seared Scallops: Perfectly prepared with a wonderful sweet corn relish and candied lemon. Delish!
Goats Town: One of the most delicious dishes I have ever had! A wonderful goat cheese lightly seasoned & “fried” and served with grilled crostini, a raspberry compote and fresh raspberries. Simply perfect!
Dalkey Duo: It was served in a fun way-on top of forks sticking up from a wooden plate. Not only was it “fun,” it was also quite yummy and the mustard dipping sauce was perfect.

Serious sirloin steak:
Grilled exactly the way I ordered it & glazed with a scrumptious Irish whiskey glaze and drizzled with a very light basil oil. Although it comes with “plain”mashed potatoes, the server happily let me replace them with colcannon, a delicious dish of mashed potatoes, sautéed onion s, cabbage and bacon. YUMM!

Shepard’s Pie:
RR twist is to make this with prime rib and lamb. This was the only dish I was disappointed in. It simply had no flavor and so I just nibbled a bit.

Paddy’s Pork:
My DH enjoyed this so much that he ordered it both nights! It was the most flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth tender pork we had ever had! The sausage stuffing and the honey soy glaze were both fantastic yet not overwhelming. Wonderful!!

Salmon of Knowledge: I agreed with my DS-the best salmon we have ever had! And my son knows his salmon! He got the maple glaze on the side yet ended up loving it!

Fish & Chips:
Nothing “fancy” yet cooked perfectly and served with a wonderful fresh tartar sauce.

Ger’s Bread & Butter Pudding:
Oh, my! Heaven in a mug! In fact, it was sooo good that my DS and DH both ordered it again on our second night! The light warm custard and carmel sauces, served on the side for to die for. YUM!

Tiramisu Cheesecake: It was ok, a little dry yet then again I find most cheesecakes on the dry side.

Sampler: Served in little espresso cups, there was a white chocolate mousse, a dark chocolate mousse and a Bailey’s Coffe Cream Pot-“Tiramisu with an Irish Twist.” My DH and DS patiently waited for me while I devoured every last bite.. :upsidedow
lynninpa,
You have convinced me to give Raglan Road a try -- I just hope I can get an ADR for December 15th!

Lynn, was the pressed pot of coffee at Kona included on the DDP? It's wonderful!

Yes, the pressed pot coffee is included on the DDP at Kona Cafe as were the delicious smoothies. :thumbsup2 If you love coffee, you must try a cup of the "bird poop" coffee at The Tusker House in AK-now THAT was the best cup of coffee I have ever had! :goodvibes

Ok, do tell about the coffee at Tusker House! Was that one of those "greater outdoor experiences?" :)

Thanks for letting us know the pressed pot of coffee is available at Kona, I'll be midway though my Disney trip when I have ressies there, and I'm sure I'll be in need of a serious coffee!

One of those greater outdoor experiences?! No, but I can see how it might sound that way! :lmao: There is a wonderful coffee served in the "bakery" at The Tusker House that is actually brewed from coffee beans that have been eaten by birds in the rain forest, pooped out and then harvested. Others besides the CMs at The Tusker House have confirmed this, as strange as it may seem. And it was truly the best cup of coffee I have ever had, even out of a cardboard cup with a plastic lid! :thumbsup2

I do have a question. I am going for a week in September with my wife and 3 yr old (just barely by a week). We are going with the free dining plan. I know that, upon check-in, our account will be credited with 21 "quick-service" credits, 21 "table-service" credits, and 21 "snack" credits.

Are the credits segregated between adult credits and child credits?

Let's say we have dinner a Maya Grill, my wife and I order dinner and share with my daughter. Would we be charged with two TS credits with 19 TS credits left or would I have 12 "Adult TS" credits and 7 "Child TS" credits???

I would like to may my credit values stretched out.

Thanks for your help!!!

You will have 12 Adult TS and 7 Child TS. Hope this helps!

How was the O'hana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. My DS (5) is wanting to eat there when we go in December.

-'Ohana (Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch)

I am just wonder do Lilo and Stitch have enough time to sign your autograph books?

Thank You
Sarah

We really loved the atmosphere-laid back and relaxing yet a ton of fun at the same time, if that makes sense?! :rotfl: The food was wonderful-fresh, hot and delish! And although our server was hoppin' busy, he never missed a beat-never even had to ask for more coffee, which is a biggie for us. :goodvibes Lilo and Stitch were great yet we were disappointed that the other characters never made it to our table even though we were there quite awhile. :confused3 Hey, in our opinion, yet another reason to plan another trip! All in all, it was a great experience and we will most definitely return. :)

Lilo and Stitch were great! They were more than happy to take the the time to sign autograpgh books! As I was watching them go from table to table, you could tell they were both very "in tune" to who they could be playful with and who may only want a quick pic without much fanfare. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry if I've already asked you this.....if I have, just let me know. We'll be at WDW for DD's bday, and while this breakfast will not be her BIG celebration, could you tell me if they do anything (even something small) to acknowledge a child's birthday? Thanks.:wizard:

Even if you already asked the question, it's no problem! :thumbsup2 I love answering any questions I can-keeps me goin' until our next trip! ;) A little boy at a table close to us was celebrating a Birthday when we were there for Breakfast. Several of the servers sang "Happy Birthday" to him as they presented him with a little something (maybe a cupcake?) with a sparkler. The family was very excited! I think the best thing for you to do is to tell them you are celebrating a B-day when you make the ADR (OR call back to add the note if your ADR is already made) and also tell them at check-in. Have a great time! :goodvibes

Any more questions? I love answering your questions-it keeps me goin' until our next trip! :upsidedow

This is probably a self-evident question -- I know you were on the DDP -- were you allowed to order the Dalkey Duo at RR as an appetizer, or did you have to pay OOP for it?

We have a ressie at RR for 7:30. I was hoping that would allow us to catch some of the entertainment, and yet not feed ds9 too late. Now I'm wondering if I should try for a later time? I guess I could always fill him up on a snack...:rotfl:
