Just returned from a full week at my favorite place in the whole wide world (besides home, of course). My husband and 9 y.o. son had a wonderful time at Disney. On this particular trip we stayed at a non-Disney hotel. It was okay but lacking in the "magic." I would much rather have stayed at PO. Anyway, the highlight of this particular trip had to be the new "dancing lights" at MGM. This will be our third year visiting during the lights. I didn't think it could get any better, but now they have gone and made the lights "dance" to beautiful Christmas music. We made a special trip back just to see this spectacular display. Our special meals were also great. We especially loved the Ohana and Liberty Tree meals.

My son has gone back and forth between the kiddie rides and the grown-up rides on the past few trips. This year though he stuck mostly with the grown-up rides. Has anyone else ever felt like the little ones were coming out of the seat on the Big Thunder Mountain Railway? I thought I was going to have a heart attack last night on that ride. My son assures me he was fine and kept pushing my arms away as I tried to hold him in. That ride is spectacular at night. My husband got to see the new additions to the Pirates ride and we visited our old favorite, the "Hunny Pots."

I would have to say the only disappointment on this particular trip was the "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party" on 11/17. We had gone to the Halloween party back in Sept. and loved it. Maybe our expectations were too high, but we ended up leaving a wee bit flustered. First of all, the event was sold out which meant there were a lot more people (more than the previous "regular" night). And we didn't get to do a lot of the stuff we had wanted to do. For example, the Christmas show next to the Car. of Progress (sorry, I forgot the name) was jam-packed both times we tried to get in. And the view of the parade was impossible. We stood in line for a very long time to see Santa - only to have a young lady come out and annouce that he had to leave to be in the parade. It would have been nice to know that sort of thing before we had stood in line for a long time. We could have kept our spot in line but she said it would be another 30 mins. before he came back. In fact, my biggest disappointment was that we never got any good character pics. like we did at the Halloween party. The lines were always long or closed. And don't get me started on those yucky cookies they served. I'd also like to note that the employees seemed to be a little lax on running the rides. My son got knocked around by some older kids when he got on the magic carpet ride. Rather than assigning seating as they normally do, they sort of had a line and told everyone to "fall in." Well, the older kids behind my son knocked him out of the way. He was about in tears. Needless to say, I was angry. In fear of sounding like a Scrooge, I did not feel any of the magic last eve. and it put a damper on what had been a really nice week. For the extra cost, I would have expected a lot more. Thanks for letting me vent.

I really wish that hadn't been our last taste of Disney for the week. The previous days were spectacular and we'll definitely be back. Gotta get at least one more trip in before this year's AP expires.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for sharing.

Wow, I can't believe they are celebrating Christmas already. It sounds like some of the specials that WDW has, is starting to become something to avoid.

The only way things like this will be improved is if you let Disney know. A simple email to guest relations typically does the trick. :thumbsup2

Hey, you were there at the same time we were! We spent Nov. 10-17 down there! We did the Christmas Party on Mon. night, (the 13th) and it was great, no crowds, no waiting for any rides. We hit MK, Epcot, AK and MGM, plus Downtown. Had a group of 6 of us, plus my 13 month old neice.

My dd also surprised me by riding some coasters...she's 11 and somewhat of a chicken, but Thunder Mountain and Tower of Terror turned out to be her favs.

It's funny to think, we may have passed each other, or even have been seated near each other on a ride or monorail, etc.!!

Yep, we could have passed one another. That's neat. Glad you guys had a good time.
