Just returned from 8 days at a cabin at Fort Wilderness. Here's my review:
We checked in early and cabin was ready, number 2703. It was in a beautiful area, close to bus stop. We were very pleasantly surprised, the cabins are so roomy. Lots of room for 4 of us to spread out. The one thing I noticed right away, very limited drawers for unpacking. Only 4 small drawers in bedroom. Closet was big enough. Kitchen great, roomy, nicely set up. The second day there I returned alone to room and card key didn't work for some reason. I called. they sent a guy who let me in and got new keys for us. The 3rd day there I returned from parks and air conditioning was not working, it was blowing hot air. I called and they said they'd send someone. I waited an hour for the guy to tell me he needed AC repair guy. He came, said it was easy fix but it was raining and they couldn't change part in rain, had to go on roof. I waited (in the 100 degree heat), they returned and fixed it. Wrong, it still didn't work. They said the needed another part and left. By now I had been sitting in heat for close to 3 hours. On his way back after 4 hours, my husband stopped at check in area and they said we could move to another cabin next door. We packed, they sent someone to help us move. It was a pain to move but worth it in the heat. The rest of our time was uneventful. We used the bus quite a bit and it was fine, busses came quickly. The campground is huge. We walked to quiet pool which was next loop over, not a bad walk. We took bus to big pool which was packed, no chairs available but found a picnic table in the shade. All in all we loved the cabins. They were worth the money. They were quiet and campground is very pretty.
