I just returned and wanted to give some advice to anyone going in the immediate future. If you have not already made dining reservations, DO SO NOW!!! I was prepared as I was burned last year, but every restaurant that we ate dinner in denied all walk ins!! I couldn't believe it!! People left in shock dinner after dinner!! Some of the restaurants that people were turned away...Sci-fi for lunch, Alfredo's for dinner, San Angel Inn for dinner, Whispering Canyon for dinner, Le Celier for lunch..it goes on. FYI, for anyone going to Mickey's Backyard bar-b-que...THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE!!! How can Disney mess up a burger? I actually questioned if it was beef we were eating! So not worth the dining plan points or money!!

Yes, it is very important for people to realize that they won't be getting into most table service places during the peak season. We have all of our dining booked and know that we can always cancel, but it's very difficult to get something at this time of the year!

yup it is important to book now.......we made reservations to go on a surprise trip for us....and we only were able to get Crystal Palace for the night of the Halloween party and that is it.......but we are not going to worry about the food aspect of being in Disney.....we can eat anything and be happy .....only going for 6 days.....

I agree...we have been many times this past year, mostly at off season times and I am shocked that they were turning all the people away.

Ever since then I plan plan plan

I can't agree more! Even if we are not 100% sure if we want to eat at a certain place but might, I book the ADR anyway and can cancel when we get there...much easier than getting there and realizing you really want to eat at a place only to be denied!!!!

If at first you can't get ADRs, definitely try calling back every few days. We really wanted to eat at Kona prior to the 9/3 P&PP with no luck. I tried again periodically and last week, suddenly a ton of availability came up. We had our selection of times to chose from. So long story short, keep trying and don't give up!

:thumbsup2

I'll second that. When I first started thinking about a quick Aug trip, the best I could get was Ohana in the MK area - not bad, but I wanted a character meal for DD's b-day, preferably the 1900 Park Fare dinner so that I can order a fantabulous cake. Called back last week got it! :yay:

Just wanted to make sure that you are aware that this meal is not being served in the Park Faire (it is being refurbished), but is being served in the Grand Floridian Cafe. It will not be a buffet, but will be a pre-plated meal with several choices of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The characters will be the same however.

I totally agree- Every time I go to WDW, especially in the summer, I see people getting turned away at ever restaurant we eat at for dinner and sometimes lunch.
