Hi friends! We stayed at the Poly Aug 1 - 7 and fell in love with the place. First off, when we arrived, my DS 4 was vomiting and had a fever! We were told that they were waiting for our room to be ready in Tokelau, but when I explained, they immediately rushed us into a room at Rarotonga. We were in room 2801. I was so greatful just to get my son in bed with some tylenol! They were so kind to us at check-in! The view was not great. We were overlooking the walkway between Niue and Rarotonga. But once my son was better, we just decided to keep the room because of the convenience to The Great Ceremonial house and monorail! To us, Rarotonga was a perfect location. We spent a lot of time just circling the hotel grounds and have to say that all buildings looked great! There was some construction going on, but they do a good job at covering it up! Our maid service came early in the morning while we were at the parks. The other 2 families traveling with us often had to wait until their rooms were done later in the afternoon. I loved this hotel and would stay again! Monorail was great! Oh yeah, the Volcano pool was incredible!!! DS's 4 and 1 loved it! DS 4 is mildly autistic and the pool was theraputic for him! Does anyone have questions? Feel free to ask.

So glad to hear your trip was wonderful!! We'll be there this time next week. We also have asked for Tokelau but we'll see what the 'magic' deals us!! My question for you is...how crowded was the pool? We plan on mid-day breaks for lunch and swimming. Also, did you ever just grab a quick bite to eat at Capt. Cooks? How was it? Can't wait to get there!!! Thanks so much.

Glad you had a nice trip and that DS quickly felt better.:D What restaurants did you eat at in the Poly?

Sounds great! We'll be there Sept 29 and I'm dying for the days to pass!

Few questions: How was the condition of your room? Where did your friends stay and did you see their rooms, any difference in "freshness"? I'd love Roratonga because of it's location, but I've read occasionally, that it is in need of rehab.

I'd also like to hear your comments on Capt. Cooks.

Thanks!!:D

We will be there Oct.1rst! I requested Samoa to be close to the pool, what do you think the odds of getting our building request granted are? Anyone know what time the ELP runs by? Also did you try Ohanas or Kona? :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

jacksmom - We requested Samoa on our trip in July and got it. The location is perfect. Very close to both pools.

If I am not mistaken, the EWP starts at the Poly at 9:00PM. You can see it from the beach or from the zero entry area of the Volcano pool.

We ate at both Ohanas and Kona when we were there. Our favorite is Kona. Even when we don't stay at the Poly, we make it a point to have dinner at Kona Cafe. The food and service is consistantly great every time. Have a great trip!

Goofy4tink,
We always headed to the pool during the afternoon. I would call it lively, but not packed with people. We could easily swim. If one area became too congested, we just moved to another spot. DS4 is mildly autistic and doesn't like to be crowded. He adored the pool! The zero entry is very nice, and the water was a perfect temperature. The only place we ate at was Capt Cooks. The only time I saw a crowd was late in the morning. The food was mediocre, but when you are too hungry and tired to go elsewhere, the food hit the spot! Definitely get the all you can drink mug!
rjjr,
Our room was in very nice shape. I did see a small pencil mark on the wall in the bathroom (child's scribble), but I only noticed it because I had dropped something on the floor and spent time in the bathroom trying to find it.
Our other family stayed in Tokelau. Their room was exactly the same as ours. I have to say, all buildings have their plus and minus. Roratonga's plus is it's proximaty to the Ceremonial house!

Glad you loved the Poly!!! We love it to and will be there in about 10 weeks! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
