We just got home from a week at WDW. We used the DDE card and it was well worth it!
Here's where we dined:
Sat night: Ca Grill. This has always been one of our favs. We had PS and the restaurant was packed. I had read on this board that you check in on the 2nd floor and were called up when your table was ready. This avoids all the people hanging around. We checked in and were sent up immediately. Good sign? No. We waited almost 45 min. for our table. By the time the waiter got to us, we ordered, and got our food, it was 90 minutes past our PS time. Unacceptable. And our PS was for 9:30 p.m.! Food was good, but not worth our wait. Don't know if we will visit again next trip. I know they were slammed with Super Bowl visitors, but still unacceptable.
Sun bfast: Fresh, Dolphin. Probably the best meal of our trip. Everything was FRESH. Best omelette I have ever had! We all loved it! Do not accept the DDE, but only charged us child's rate for my DD 14 and it is very obvious he is 14 (looks more like 16). Everyone there was so nice and eager to please. Do NOT miss this one!
Sun night: O'hana's. First time. Food was wonderful, as was the service. We were seated underneath a speaker, so each time the entertainer entertained, it blared at us! Wish we had been at a different table. But, that was the only complaint.
Mon lunch: Tusker House, AKL. Fabulous! Came out cheaper to buy the voucher than use the DDE. DS had the rotisserie chicken and I had the salmon. Both were great. The salmon was better than what I had at Le Cellier! And at a third of the price!
Mon night: Whispering Canyon, WL. Again, they charged us for 2 kids (I had told them their ages). We had the skillet meals (all you can eat). Good food. This was our first time here. They made a huge deal over my DD's bday! She loved it. It took my DH and DD a while to get used to the ruckus, but once they did, they enjoyed it. Even my DH was running around with ketchup!
Tues lunch: Teppanyaki. Could not use DDE, so used AP discount. Food, as always, was very good. Enjoyed by all. Was sad to see they had raised their prices. This was always one place in Epcot that the kid's meals seemed more reasonable. Now, the grilled chicken or shrimp is $11.99 at lunch for kids and the Donald's Meal is $6.99 at lunch.
Tues night: Le Cellier. Another fav. DH had soup and salad. DS had prime rib. I had salmon. Son loved his. Mine was good, but as stated above, not as good as Tusker House. DD was wearing her bday pin (wore it every day) and they brought her chocolate mousse. Exceptional!
Wed lunch: Food court at CR. Burgers. Pleasantly surprised. Great fries.
Wed night: Liberty Tree Tavern, MK. Our first time. Very good. The turkey was excellent as was the flank steak. Loved the carrots and salad.
Thurs night: Sci Fi, MGM. DS and DD had burgers. Enjoyed. DH had catfish. We are from catfish country and we both loved the catfish at the Sci Fi. Very spicy though. I had the salad and BLT soup. Great.
Fri bfast: Crystal Palace. Enjoyed by all! But it took forever for the characters to get to the table. Had to wait 15 minutes after we finished for Eeyore (my DD's fav).
Fri night: Chefs de France. Very good. Last minute decision as kids have never cared for it, but enjoyed it very much this trip.
Sat bfast: Kona, Poly. I had Tonga Toast (loved it, as usual). DD had french toast. DS had the Big Kahuna (polished it off) and DH had eggs, potatoes, meat, and biscuits. Great meal! In and out in less than 45 minutes.
Hope this helps!
My advice to all: If you are dining in the park on a EMH night, have PS! I checked around noon for dinner PS at MGM and every place was booked solid. When we arrived at MGM, we went to Guest Relations (to get my DD a bday pin!) and they were able to get a PS for us at Sci Fi. Asked it I was a resort guest and asked to see my room key. I guess, in this case, it mattered.
Was never asked to show an AP with my DDE. Asked for picture ID several times, but no AP. Never had a problem with DDE. So VERY glad we had it!
