We just returned from a seven day Disney extravaganza that was fantastic. Our first day there was on Saturday, June 17th. Believe it or not the crowds for the first two hours of the day were non-existent. We rode Space Mountain with no wait, Buzz Lightyear-3 times in a row with no wait and with some savvy fast pass manipulation did not wait for Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Most rides throughout the day were walk on with no wait. Including Philharmagic, Tiki Room, Stitch, TTC, Carosel, Haunted Mansion (3 times - no fast pass and no wait). We used Fast Passes on Pooh and Jungle Cruise but still no wait.

Next day was MGM. Again crowds were very light. We rode Tower of Terror (3 times- no wait), Rock N Roller Coaster (just once), and Star Tours with out waiting. We had a little bit of hold up on The Great Movie Ride when a jokester somewhere in front of us decided to change the ropes on the cue line so that there was no exit. A little annoying when your going through it, but hilarious when you think about it later. I don't recommend trying it though. The Cast Members were not amused.

Next day was Epcot and what a way to start the day. We were chosen as the Family of the Day. We got to ride across Epcot in a Test Track car that was modified for the road. We were the first on Test Track that day, they took us over for priority seating on Mission Space. And gave us a Special Pass to go to the front of the line on any ride of our choice (we chose Soarin of course). They also provided us with a free picture of our ride on Test Track. The crowds were starting to get a little heavier. But again having some priority seatings and using Fast Pass wisely got us through the day with little wait on anything.

We did Animal Kingdom as well as Epcot and Magic Kingdom again and had a simply wonderful vacation. I will admit the day after we left I was happy to be leaving and glad to be home. Now I am ready to return and stay another week.

If you have questions. Fire Away!

Sounds like you have great park planning skills! :thumbsup2 Congratulations on being family of the day at Epcot. What a wonderful memory. :sunny:

How were you chosen to be Family of the Day? Were you the first in line?
Lucy's Mom

How do you get chosen ? Is it the moment you walk in the park ? Does it have to be a family? Or could it be a Mom, Daughter & child ????? :Pinkbounc

Sounds like a most magical trip. Congrats on being family of the day at Epcot!

Congrats on having such a wonderful trip. Thats awesome you didn't have to deal with the lines! I would have expected to hear differently since its summer. I'm anxious to hear how you were chosen as the Epcot family too.

Isn't the TofT awesome!?! I could ride that thing all day!! :p

Sounds like you had a great trip! I am curious to on how you got to be family of the day??? How awsome is that!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congrats on being Family of the Day! Isn't it great...we were Family of the day in 2004!

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!

We had already entered through the turn stiles and we were standing by the pin cart on the left where the rope drop is by Innoventions. We weren't even in the front part of the line. We were standing together (me, DW, and DS8) when a CM came up and started asking us a few questions. Next thing I know she is asking if we could help her with something. Then she took us past the rope and to the waiting Test Track auto. Getting past the rope is pretty tough. It is kind of like having a dog that knows he isn't supposed to get on the couch, but is thrilled to death when you let him. That is how we felt. It was fantastic. I've always been a huge Disney Fan. Now it's more of an obsession!

We were there same week! Just got back last night.

We too were chosen as Family of the Day at Animal Kingdom on our first full day in the parks. That was Father's Day! It was so special and a fantastic way to start our trip.

We got a special tour just us to the Safari Ride because that was going to be our first ride of the day anyway. The CM pointed out neat things along the way like Hidden Mickey's and such. When we got to the ride we were introduced to everyone as the Smith Family, Family of the Day! We felt very special. We rode the Safari alone, just the 4 of us! Saw almost all of the animals too. They were all out this day. They gave us a certificate when we finished the ride stating Family of the Day and the date. We also got a fastpass for Safari for the rest of the day. We were able to walk right up to the front of the line the rest of the day. We were getting all kinds of looks at all the stand-byers.

It's so neat how all the parks do this. Glad you were picked also. And your right, it does make you more of a disney nut. :cool1:
