and by far I still LOVE Disneyland the most! To me, the spirit of Mr. Walt Disney is still everywhere in Disneyland. I NEVER have felt the same about the Magic Kingdom at WDW. This is my 2nd trip, and by far my trips to Disneyland have been MUCH more magical. Although WDW is bigger....it doesn't mean it is better!

So...for those who never have been to WDW and feel they are missing out by not going, in my opinion the Disneyland's Magic Kingdom is far superior!!!!

I must agree. I went to WDW once and it was fun, I love Epcot, but it's too overwhelming. I like my Disneyland. I feel I get the full experience in 3 days a opposed to being at WDW for a week and still not seeing everything. They're both fun, but Disneyland is more my style.

You know, that's not the first time I've heard that before. We're planning our first trip to WDW for next year and we're completely excited about it. But still, we still want to experience the difference between the two...

Welcome back! I love WDW...it is such an amazing place to be. It is my #1 favorite place to vacation. Epcot is of course the best!

I agree about the MK though, Disneyland is much better. There are certain things about the Original that just can't be replicated...Blue Bayou, Club 33, Fantasmic! (DL's is SO much better), Fantasia ice cream (well, I've never seen it in WDW). Also, you KNOW that Walt roamed the streets of DL... :)

I feel very fortunate to reside in So.Cal... :)

Don't get discouraged....as I think everyone should experience WDW! I do like parts of Epcot and MGM. But if you compare both Magic Kingdoms, in my opinion Disneyland wins hands down.

Some differences you will notice:
No Alice and wonderland ride
Fantasyland area is not as pretty
Toontown looks like a mess
Fantasmic, although at the MGM, in my opinion stunk. DL's is better!
Space mountain ride has no music - there are NO speakers in the cars
Overall....I just like DL MUCH MUCH better

You will LOVE the firework displays. And there iare TONS of things to do at the other parks which offer a variety of rides and shows.

I'm sure I'll like it, regardless of the differences. But, I'm interested to see the actual differences myself. I tend to think since it will be our first time to WDW, we'll more than likely be overwhelmed with everything WDW has to offer. Which means, I probably wouldn't even notice the differences.

I'm the other side of this. We've never been to Disneyland, planning our first trip out there this June. We know it will be different and we've been told may attractions are better yet we're not 100% sure if we'll miss being a the whole "world" We are looking forward to our trip!

We are also coming to DL this July - will stay three nights after our Magic cruise. We are so looking forward to experience DL. My sister who lived in CA tells me the same thing, she enjoys the feeling more in DL than WDW. I am sure it's great - like many other vacations - they are special in their own way - because these are both "WDW" though - we will try not to compare to see which one is better but just point out what is different/same.

Same here! I'll be in Disneyland for the first time in about 2 weeks :earseek: :earseek: and I'm really excited, but I feel the same way about missing WDW. But it's ok, I'll be in WDW in about 3 months, and I'm sure I'll like Disneyland too. :D I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like there!

We just came back from WDW ourselves and now we are planning a trip to DL due to son who is stationed in Japan/Navy said, "When I come back to the states I want to go to DL" and we are trying to make it happen for him. We love WDW more due to it has more (its more then a theme park), but DL will always be special to us due to we are used to going there when we were kids.

There is a vast amount of stuff to absorb at WDW. Which is great because you never get bored. And the variety of food, shows and rides are great. Love Epcot world showcase, MGM, etc.

If I could add those other parks to DL's Magic Kingdom I'd be in absolute heaven! :cloud9:
