Just returned from WDW and FP+ stinks

The entree menu is exactly as it was 2 years ago. Disgusting is probably a bit harsh. Worth ever going back to? No. But I've had worse food in my life.

I can't speak for the flatbreads, but I'm almost certain I had a small pizza there a few years back and it was no better than Pizzafari. Shame as when they served burgers, they were quite good. And it's a much nicer setting than either Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays.

One thing I will give Disney is both their QS and CS are much better (and far more varied) than Universal. Universal QS is practically inedible.

I agree. Seeing all the food sitting out under heatlamps is not the most mouthwatering sight right before lunch. My chicken burger was lukewarm and tasted of oil. Of all the theme parks, Disney's have the best food!

And eh, changing a FP+ took like 30 seconds for me. Mind you, that was on my phone in the evening at home not at Disney.

It makes sense now. You posted that long after my bedtime. I have to be up early every day for rope drop...... uh...... to get my daughter off to school. :)

And you didn't need to post those photos to prove that some here find you scary! :rotfl:

So clarifying your stance on FP+. I had you down as a "maybe". ;)

hahahahahahaha

Not if you know where to go. Thunder Falls Terrace is excellent and a few others aren't bad. We normally prefer to eat full service or head over to Citywalk though. It's so nice that Citywalk is right there to enjoy.

:thumbsup2 If you can't find anything QS to eat at Universal that suits your needs then Citywalk is about a 10 minute walk from wherever you are in the parks.

We really like TF and don't mind a slice of pie from Louie's. The fact that I can actually SEE the people making and rolling the dough doesn't hurt. Pizzafari could learn a thing or two...just sayin'.:thumbsup2

The new Simpon's eateries have some very interesting choices now as well. Personally, I can't wait to check out all the new places they are opening in Citywalk this year. The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar really peaks our interest.

Since someone mentioned it referring to crowd levels and what touring plans estimated the crowd levels. Touring plans.com listed our days in the MK as a 6 out of 10 for last Friday and Sunday was a 6 also if I remember correctly.

Thunder Falls was good. I forgot about that one. Louie's isn't bad either. Not Via Napoli, but much better than Pizza Planet.

I'm thinking more about places like Mel's, Monsters Cafe, Captain America's diner or whatever it's called. I agree though - City Walk is your best bet. And while none of it is anything unusual, it's all relatively decent. Heck, you could go to Hard Rock every day and find something different to eat, and it's all pretty good.

We only ate at the Springfield place once, so I can't pass much judgement. The atmosphere was cool, and Moe's is awesome. However, none of the food stood out. It's fun, but it's all kind of crummy. A burger with cheeze whizz?:crazy2:

I thought that with all the people who were going to stop going to WDW because of the decision to sell beer in the MK, and adding Starbucks to Main Street, the parks would be so empty there wouldn't even be a need for FP.

Haha love this!

Sorry, but fastpass plus is a more serious issue then the above.

I think you will get your wish on less crowded parks, now. It will take a year or more, but it will happen. When people return from their current trips some will not be planning to return like me.

I've been loyal through the years with over 40 trips, but I will be trying other destinations, now.

What a bummer reading these threads. From what I gather, the spontaneity of our trip is gone. Now my family and I are locked to an agenda....and up to 6-months in advance! It may be time to hold off on any future trips until they figure this out. Having everything so meticulously planned to the minute makes me feel like I'm not on vacation. We ALWAYS add the park hopper to our tickets but this all but defeats the purpose. We would be at MK and get some FP's to our faves and then monorail it over to EPCOT and pull some FP's over there.....now we are limited. :furious:

Oh, it's not that bad. For instance, here's our plan for when we went for a couple of weeks - included all of our park choices based on our ADR's and FP+ choices combined with favorable park conditions like crowd ratings and when EMH was as well as strategic times and locations for dining and sleeping schedules in addition to RD strategies on those days following any possible late night activities in the park of choice and whether the quarter landed on heads or tails.......

Only took a few weeks of tweaking to get it all right! :)

If they put a beer stand on Main Street I'd use an FP there... just saying. pirate:

:scared1: You have a spreadsheet for your vacation!:scared1: Ok so I am not picking on you. I know being on here many are like that and with 14+days I am sure that helped. The thing I keep going back to is... Not only is Disney making people like yourself who are planners and who like to ride multiple times upset with Fastpass+ they are completely alienating a whole other group of people who have ZERO interest in making appointments and spreadsheets for their vacations all so they can be glued to their phone. As if that rant has not been said enough I feel as though it should be repeated:rotfl:

Adjust or die I suppose in the world of theme parks:rotfl2:

I couldn't agree more. This is exactly what I'm balking against but it's either that or don't go. :crazy2:

Sharing that with you was a bit tongue-in-cheek. Yes, it was a lot of planning and at times I thought it was borderline ridiculous. But it did help immensely, and I can't help but think our time spent would have been much less enjoyable if we hadn't pre-planned to that degree. We came back with the feeling that we had accomplished most everything we wanted to accomplish at a somewhat relaxed pace.

So not only is it a bit bizarre that spending a couple of weeks at WDW may require such a level of planning, I consider it even more bizarre that a theme park now needs an IT Help Desk for it's guests :)

Yes, Mel's is particularly bad. We do go to Monster's Café because of the theming but I've learned to keep it real simple there.

I wasn't wild about the Simpson's place. I think that they purposely make weird things but they at least have to taste good.

Sorry to be so off topic!

I know it can be hard to sift through what is tongue in cheek and what is just ridiculous, but suffice it to say that an enjoyable trip to WDW doesn't require a 17 day trip or anywhere near this amount of planning, or require you to be glued to your phone.

Take a look around the boards for people who have used FP+ to make their trips more enjoyable and don't focus only on those who are complaining about it. I'm sure you will find someone whose approach is more in tune with what you would like to do.

You might also find more useful and objective information without the drama on easywdw.

While Disney may be alienating a number of people, including a lot of the most vocal ones here, they are also making things easier for a lot of guests who don't want to plan or don't know how to plan by allowing them to get reservations for a few things that they would really like to do. Guests like that are not likely to be on boards like this, and they were not likely to be getting more than 3 paper FPs either.

Whatever you say, Wis. Very helpful indeed.

Maybe I should have brought you along to show me how to do it. Obviously, my way and what worked for us was completely wrong and unacceptable.

Luckily not everyone interprets discussion of negative aspects as "complaints". And since neither one of us knows (or maybe you do?) what everyone else's style or expectations are, it would be myopic to suggest to anybody that a plan isn't necessary.
