Just returned from very first solo trip.

would suggest Studio you can walk or boat from the studio to all the Epcot resorts.

if you go with epcot you will need a ticket to get in Epcot - then walk over to the International gateway - between France and great britian - and ride the boat or walk.

Ms WDW - glad you had a great time!!! remember your posts sounded like you were worried that you would have fun at all.

another member of the solo trips! trips with friends, family, co-workers can be fun. but a solo trip is the best. You do what you want when you want too.

if you want to sleep late do it - if you want to stay until the park closes - do it!

very happy that your have a husband that appreciates you and want you to have fun even without him.

that is a rare man! he is definitely a keeper.

I completely forgot that in order to get to the boat at Epcot you need to go through the park!!!

Yes I had a wonderful time!!!! And you have a very good memory!!! :thumbsup2 I was a little apprehensive about going by myself but no more......I LOVED IT!! Can't wait to do it again next October.

Yeah, DH is pretty special. After almost 30 years I guess I'll keep him.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to do a solo. After reading your post it sounds so enjoyable! I think if my children ever knew that I went to WDW ALONE they would be crushed!

I am checking flights for the dates I am interested and they are very good. Ifeel like it is something I have to do for myself.

By the way, how can you have as your location: Bronx, NY ? Everyone knows that location is so special it is always preceded by "the" as in
"THE BRONX"!!!
I went to college and lived in the Bronx and still spend alot of time there!

You really have to try a solo trip at least once. I loved it so much that I'm booking my next years trip Monday!! My son is at a point now where he really has no interest   in WDW unless he has a pal with him. And DH is happy with one trip per year with me in the summer. So October is "Mommy" time and I can't wait.

LOL about "The Bronx". Unfortunately that's how I registered and while I totally agree about "The" this is how it has to be. ;) Where did you go to school and where did you live?

Last year I recruited some friends to come w/me for a girls weekend. It was great. We definately did some things that I would not usually do w/the kids and DH, such as Cal. Grill for cocktails and hors d'ovres or "drink" around the world in EPCOT. I don't think I can get a few girls to go every year. They are not bitten by the Disney bug as I am! Kids would come-but that would be 3 more -it starts running up the $. DH is getting tired of WDW, but he is the only one! I do think a solo trip is in order though. Thanks for the encouragement.

I lived for a bit in Riverdale and went to Mt. St. Vincent. DH was a cop in the Bronx so we spent alot of time in different areas-like Woodlawn. We also go quite often to Yankee Stadium, BX Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Kids play Irish Football at Gaelic Park on occassion. I also used to teach at PS 207 on 183 and Tiebout off of the Grandconcourse.

so I have a bit of the Bronx in me!

that's awesome to hear! glad to hear you had such a good time- how nice it must have been to see a familiar face there and meet up for some time (although I'm sure you would have fun regardless).

My DH can do one trip per year and he's had it. DS who is now 18 has "outgrown" WDW and could care less. :sad2: But me....ahhhh now that's another story. As a matter of fact I booked my next October trip for the Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP today. I can't wait. Don't get me wrong; when I'm there with DH or a friend I do have a great time. But there's nothing like doing what you want when you want.

I guess you do have some of "The Bronx" in you! I'm not far from the Stadium. Wait until you see how much of the "new" statium is up!! It's amazing.

Well do let me know if you should decide to do a "solo" trip. You'll have the time of your life!!!
