Just returned yesterday from 6 nights in a 1 bdr BWV, Boardwalk view room 5041 to be exact. After all the negative reports recently I was a little concerned but we had a wonderful stay. We checked in at 3:00 PM on December 17th and to my incredible surprise our room was ready. We were checked in by the most pleasant CM, Ana. We are part of the DIS tree exchange and the first thing she did was go personally and get the tree before I even asked about it and before she checked us in. She even offered to help me carry it out to the front as I awaited my DH and the bags. Our room was in perfect condition, absolutely no issues at all. We had lights on our balconey and a 3 foot blow up Mickey Santa with lights that fit perfectly in between our balconeys. The CMs at Character Connection and Dundies Sundries were all great, as well. We left a tip on trash and towel day and the housekeeper did a few extras as well as changing towels and taking the trash. One of the days they cleaned the carpets on the entire floor.
The parks were busy and got worse as the week went on but we still enjoyed MVMCP as well as the Candlelight Processional. We even stopped at all the Holiday storytelling at all the Epcot countries this year which we had not done before. We go at a much more relaxed pace now and the crowds never bothered us but on Thursday all the fastpasses to Soarin' and Test Track were gone by 2:00 PM. We did MVMCP on the 18th and it was sold out so I was a little concerned. We always go early in December so had never experienced a sold out party. Although the parade was packed we walked on nearly every ride after the fireworks.
Midweek we were taking the boat from MGM to Epcot and sat next to a DVC sales person. I asked him if he knew if there were any BWV points available currently as we are thinking of adding on again. He told me he didn't know but he was just told about them building somewhere very close to the Bonnet Creek resort that is non-Disney. I told him I'd heard of the Contemporary rumors but not that one. He told us to go look and there was a sign up. We never thought to drive by so I'm not sure if he really knew what he was talking about. We then went to the Merry Member Mixer on Thursday so I asked one of the sales persons there about the BWV and about the rumor I heard. She brought up the Disney Bonnet Creek resort which I think was Eagle Pines, I'm not sure if I'm remembering right. Sbe said she couldn't confirm anything but they were close to announcing something. She also told me she thought there were BWV points available unclaimed. I am going to check on Monday. I don't know if they are uninformed and just speculating or if they had been told anything, it's so hard to know.
As always, we can't wait to go back. It was another wonderful trip. Merry Christmas to all!
