We were there from Saturday, 11/12 through yesterday. We stayed in a studio, #6101 at the Paddocks. Our room was actually closer to the Congress Park bus stop. I believe the building was newly opened and everything in the room was in great shape, except the electricity!
When we got to the room, we had no lights except for the light in the kitchen area. Maintenance finally arrived and the problem was a thrown circuit breaker. We had a nice view of the water and the walk to the front desk and main pool took about 10-15 minutes.
This was our second trip here; we have not been at SSR since August 2004. It is a huge resort! A car would be really nice here as we did not see many internal buses.
The signage could be better too. Especially at night, it is easy to get disoriented. The slide at the main pool was out of service for our last two days there. Folks were told to use the pool and slide at OKW instead.
We used ME, which worked very well. Check-in was swift and we were in our bus very quickly. We arrived at the resort around 6:30 p.m.; our luggage arrived at 8:30 p.m.
The parks were uncrowded. The wait for Splash Mountain was 5 minutes, which was great!
The Haunted Mansion was not open on Tuesday. We had our usual Dole Whip treat, which was fabulous!
The weather was interesting high 70s and 80s, but quite humid and party cloudy most days. We tried to visit Raglan Road, but the gates around the restaurant and shop were closed on Monday and it looked like work was being done outside. That was disappointing.
However, we ate at House of Blues instead, which we really enjoyed. DTD was very busy on Sunday, the last day of the Masters. Lots of lovely artwork!
We saw the Osborn Family Lights at MGM on Tuesday and they are great! Really lovely! All in all, a short but fun trip and a nice break from reality! Back to the cold temps in PA!
