Just Returned from SSR! (Long, sorry!)

Christmas decorations were a "work in progress" at SSR. The lobby and entry area were decorated with a beautiful large tree and a smaller one in the children's areas. There were also elegant swags over the CM's counter and decorations on the light poles in the welcome area. I wouldn't be surprised if more areas will be decorated for Christmas.

By the way, we saw a family taking pictures of their young daughters in front of the smaller Christmas tree in the children's area. The girls (infant & toddler) were dressed in their Christmas best and I'm sure the pictures came out great. I thought that was a such a good idea for Christmas cards, etc.

Can someone tell me if the elevators at SSR face the lagoon or away from the lagoon?

Not quite sure what you are asking here...

The elevators are in the car park side of the buildings. There is no view from the elevators.

The elevators are in the center and are in the part of the building that faces the parking lots. There are also stairs in the center (next to the elevator) and a set of stairs on each end of the building.

Great report, glad to hear SSR left a wonderful impression on you. How were the buses. Were they quite frequent?

wisbucky -

Yes, the busses ran quite frequently. I don't think we ever waited more than 5 minutes for busses to Epcot or MK (didn't do MGM or AK this time). At this point, the only bus stops in SSR are Congress Park and across from the check-in area. Busses were also quite empty. We did have long waits at Epcot for the return bus to SSR - it was noticeable because the busses for other resorts would come & go (somtimes twice) and we were still waiting. It all worked out though. :sunny:
