Hey everyone...

We (my DH, 14 mo. old DD, and I) just returned from a week long stay at Pop on Tuesday night. I had never stayed at a value resort before, so I was a little nervous, but we LOVED it.

We were in the 70's section on the courtyard side near the Goofy splash fountains and very close to Classic Hall. It was a little loud with the music and the kids playing in the fountains until about 9:30pm at night, but not so noisy that it bothered us. We occassionally heard toliets flushing, but I never heard any other noise from our neighbors.

Our room was very clean...and I am very picky. The room was nothing special, but perfectly fine for us on a "budget" vacation. We stayed at Beach Club last year, and while the location of Beach Club was great, the rooms really weren't all that much nicer than Pop IMHO. Certainly, not three times the cost nicer.

The toddler pool and the Goofy fountains were great. Our DD played in one or the other on most evenings.

We did not have as bad of an experience with the bus service as many others on this board seemed to have had, but for the most part, we weren't traveling to the parks during the peak hours. I did really like that the bus stop was centrally located rather than having multiple stops throughout the resort. It was also very orderly with the bus lines (again...something that I really appreciate).

The only negative to us was the food court. We only ate there twice. On our first night, we stopped by for a snack when we returned from the park. My husband's cheeseburger was inedible and he is not a picky person at all (example...he gets excited about eating gas station sandwiches if we are on a car trip...gross!). The bun was very dry and he said that the hamburger was probably the best grade D beef you could get! I had nachos that I thought were pretty good. :)

We didn't stop at the food court again until our last morning for breakfast. DH shook in terror at the thought of eating there again until the last morning. This time, he had a better meal (the breakfast pizza), but it was insanely crowded. We ate breakfast late...around 10am...but you practicaly had to fight for a table and the entire dining area was very, very dirty from the breakfast rush.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I think you just sold me on the dining plan!!! lol

We're staying at POP Jan 25-Feb 1. Last time we ate a lot at the POR food court. i've been trying to convince DH that dining is worth it, espeically since I gave into his frugalness to stay at POP! With dining we could avoid the POP food court!

Thanks!

Thanks for the review Amarberry - I'll be sure to avoid that Best D Grade Hamburger :earsgirl:

My daughters also just returned from the POP and they liked it very much. I am not sure which building they stayed in but they did not go to the food court so they did not have that problem but they did have the BUS problem. They said it was the worst ever. There was a line to wait on the line for the bus, it took hours. That is really unacceptable and Disney has to address that problem. :earseek:

We were on the (free) dining plan and enjoyed it. We typically do only one or two TS meals a trip because we prefer to just grab some food and go. The extra TS meals were actually nice since we were traveling with a toddler and it slowed down the pace of things a little bit for us.

A couple of evenings, we chose to hop on a bus over to Downtown Disney and eat CS there instead of the food court. That worked for us on this trip since our schedule was a little off the ordinary. We seemed to eat a lot of early lunches and dinners. On our last night, we came back to Pop on a Downtown Disney bus around 7 or 7:30pm and the line for the bus going back to Downtown Disney was HUGE!
