We just returned from the Poly 8/20 - 8/24. Prior to that we stayed at the Portifino (8/18 - 8/20)

Quick report ( a more detailed report coming on the Trip board)

Hawaii Longhouse - Congiere level, Garden View, Room #2533.
This was our 13th trip to Disney.

Check-in: A bit disappointing. CM at desk was a "temp", who was not familiar with congiere and had to keep refering to other busy CM's to get our questions answered. :( She really did not want to be there.
However, we enjoyed being taken direclty to the Hawaii building and not having to wait on the long lines at the front desk in the GCH.:D

Room: Nice, large, clean, and pleasant view for garden.

Concierge lounge: Lot's of food. Clean and well staffed. Nice variety of foods in the evening.

Pool: Crowded and warm.:( Kids enjoyed the volcano pool but prefered SAB. Very difficult to find a chair in the afternoon. Retreated to quiet pool, each day.:sunny:

Overall: Great location::MickeyMo ::yes:: excellent restaurants:tongue: great valet parking!

Any questions?

This seems to be a BIG problem with the Polynesian's CL lately!:(

I was hoping that since our June check-in "fiasco", they would've gotten this ironed out!:sad2:

I'm glad you enjoyed your room, the lounge, and the other amenities. TBH, that is what keeps us going back to the Poly's CL.

(methinks they need to take some CL/CM lessons from the Epcot/AKL/CR CL CMs!::yes:: )

Thanks for the update, Splashfamily!:wave2:

Did you request a 2nd floor room with no balcony or was this the only room available? I'm just wondering because I would be a bit disappointed if I didn't get a balcony or at least a first floor room. Thanks for the post... we are anxiously awaiting our trip!!

Trish~ I requested a 2nd or 3rd floor room. I did not want to be on the ground floor and I was very assertive about it. Would I have loved a balconey room ................ yes but we were satified with our room and the CM who checked us in told us that the Poly was sold out.
We probably could have moved the next day but to be honest we just came from the Portifino and wanted to unpack and get settled in. We always go to Universal first for 2 days and then move to WDW.
The 2nd floor gardens did not have balcony in Hawaii (for what I could see) but I might be wrong.
Have a wonderful trip.:sunny:
